Are you better prepared for the second wave of the pandemic and panic buying?

I doubt the panic buying will be as bad the second time around. Most of the panic the first time was because it was such a chaotic situation where nobody knew what to expect. Now, people have been able to see that they didn't actually need twelve years' worth of toilet paper, and the supplies people did actually need lots of (sanitizer, masks) have had their production increased meet the new demand/cut down on scalping potential, so I wouldn't expect nearly as much this time.

I haven't been able to find disinfectant wipes for 2 months now.
I had a decent stock of it and use them sparingly so I've managed, but I'm gonna fucking need them eventually. Went to various stores this last shopping trip and was told you have to show up when the store opens if you want to snag any of them. Fucking ridiculous.
Also checked Amazon, where they're price gouging like $32 for a two pack and such.

They do seem to still be understocked. I'm guessing the companies in producing them prioritized production of spray cleaners and sanitizing gel over wipes, since those are generally needed on larger scales (what with every business in the world sanitizing every surface several times a day).

Haven't seen the spray bottles, either

A lot of those have been diverted for commercial use (where they're substantially more expensive than usual).

I'm still as good on TP and disinfectant now as this past early spring, if not better-off. If this insanity leads to another lockdown with essential workers receiving bonus pay, I'd welcome the 75-80 dollars a week. I'd also welcome a quieter holiday shopping season, but that's mostly me, I'm sure. <_<

I'm not too concerned for either.

I live out in the country with a lot of land, and don't go into town much. We have easily a years worth of food plus a lot of livestock. On top of that we have a decent amount of staples like toilet paper stored.

I work at a grocery store, and I haven't seen people stocking up on supplies nearly as much as they were in Februrary or March.

Got at least a year's supply of TP! (That's literally the minimum amount you can buy from Sam's Club, plus a few rolls from the last purchase)

Saw an old lady at the grocery store buying several packs of tp tell the checker Lester Holt said there's gonna be a run on it so she was stocking up.

They've only been hinting at the 2nd wave. They'll start talking about lockdown in another few week im betting and then the panic buying will start. May start after election day too if things get as chaotic as I think they will

I went shopping today, and it was...something.

Three grocery stores, not a single one had any disinfectant spray or wipes.
But one of the stores literally gave every customer a free 4 pack of TP and a large bottle of hand soap, as "customer appreciation" (ie, "crap, we have way too much of this shit in stock now!"...not that I'm complaining about getting free stuff :p)

Like, damn.... That really highlighted the disparity between stuff that used to be impossible to find and stuff that's STILL impossible to find!
