In a way I kinda feel like the trump presidency might be an overall good thing in the long run, simply because I think maybe it woke a lot of people up and made them realize that if they dont vote or dont make their voices heard we end up with situations like the 2016 candidates

I voted this time, but there are many like me who basically have given up on politics all together, no longer feel like they really have any choice, or that there is even a big diff between the options.

I will probably still vote in the future since it's not a big effort, but it wasn't just this last election that dissillusioned me to the process, it's been going on for decades and that was just the last straw.

Except it's not the collective voice that matters, we are not a republic, we are controlled by the rich and wealthy and always have been. Anything else is just an illusion we have been fed. Other then FDR the majority has basically been ignored and abused throughout American history, certainly within my lifetime they have.

IF you don't have any control over who runs the government, who the options are for you to vote on, then you have no voice. We don't get to vote in school teachers, firemen, people who actually put society first before profit. Only the rich and wealthy are options, and they take care of their own.

I would say there are certainly some dictators that would run a better, more fair, government than we do, because in that case it's up to the morals and beliefs of one person, and there is more of a limit on greed. Here you have thousands and thousands of greedy people willing to take from the masses, with the power to do so.

Voting should be from grass roots up at this point with presidential candidates being grown in each state, and possibly starting in each country of the state, have online digital elections to determine each tier of candidate until you come down to only 2 choices for the entire nation and the popular vote wins it period.

THAT would still not neccesarily be a democracy (still could be a republic) but at least we would choose our own representatives. People would feel like their choices matter, because they would. People who are actually good/caring and in tune with average american lives would end up running things.

We live in a time, and a country, where everyone could live like kings or at least REALLY REALLY well. There is little need for manual labor if time/energy is used to automate most things. Citizens would either not need to work, or work less than 30 hours a week (generally because they want to, and for extra money for pleasure/travel etc). If the wealth of the top 2% were spread across the rest of the nation I believe the numbers state every single american would be getting over 100k a year without working an hour (just based on interest etc).

We have not had an administration that built/focused on our infrastructure in my lifetime, that is freaking crazy. We have not seen great improvements in the low/middle classes standard of living either, even while technology has advanced insanely fast. People are more likely to die today then 20 years ago because of medical issues, not because medicine hasn't improved, but because we have less facilities/staff per citizen than we used to (many hospitals have closed, instead of having more of them to deal with larger populations). Education has more than quadrupled in cost not just within my lifetime, but since I graduated from freaking highschool lol. Meanwhile that education means far less as well, making tons of people end up in serious debt.

We need a great president and administration. We need something that will inspire Americans and make everyone feel good about their country and their future. We don't have one, and we won't have one in the near future. With the negatives going on in the world right now, we have never needed one as badly as we do. I feel so sorry for the young who look forward to a future with global warming, pandemics, housing crisis, job instability and a ton of other problems. At least when I was a kid we just worried about being nuked and instantly killed, which at this point sometimes seems like the good old days sadly.

Free healthcare isn't enough, we need more resources. My wife didn't die because of the cost of healthcare (though the insurance companies sure made our lives more miserable), she died because the hospitals near us were full up from the flu, they even had a tent setup that was full, and she had to be transfered all the way to another state for dialysis. She got a infection in her heart in the process and died from that. If there had been room here (we waited a week for her to be admitted) she would have been fine.

So we need more than free healthcare, we need MORE hospitals, and to invest more money in good healthcare for everyone (while also making it free). Obama set up a plan, but without increasing the amount of resources we had to go with it, it actually probably ended up causing more deaths over all.

I certainly am pro universal free healthcare, but we NEED more resources as well, and honestly first since most/many of the people who need healthcare now, currently have it through obamacare already.

But I don't even remotely trust the average person's vote. The average person is too dumb for that responsibility and the people who might be competent are too corrupt. People are far too willing to be confidant in things they have no way of knowing are correct.

I agree that we all could be living like kings if people weren't still locked into the idea of competition but they are and a single politician won't change that no matter how persuasive he is.

I don't really have any solutions aside from just fixing the problems myself if I get better but theres so much shit intentionally standing in the way of making things better and it's all so intertwined that they have created a very difficult system to unfuck.

Uh no he didn't. I Trump has been a sleaze for a very long time and for people who remember, he was not a great a businessman as he has proclaimed and he was never NYs biggest developer and he has lost more money than he's ever made.

After his first year and a half in office, it was all downhill from that point on but he appeals to White Supremacists which is why he's popular among groups like the Proud Boys etc.

Take the pandemic for example, Trump has done nothing and he knew by his own admission that this thing was far more dangerous than he led on yet he did nothing about it.

Some people are still idled from work because of the pandemic and he has been slow to provide as has all the politicians, relief to those people.

The Government has done nothing since issuing the first stimulus package and here we are heading into the holiday season and nothing as of yet on the next stimulus package.

This whole thing was handled horribly by the entire US Government.

Even if they built hospitals it wouldn't matter. The entire infrastructure is fucked. There's not enough public transportation.

I agree it's not entirely down to number of hospitals or doctors. The insurance companies have the industry by the balls and force them to take way too high a caseload to remain in business. The insurance companies can do that because our legal system is fucked to hell and for some reason it takes money and time to defend yourself from an incorrect allegation. A doctor can't just say "well, I won't mess up and if I do then I should be ruined financially" because someone could ruin them without even needing for the doctor to make a mistake.

So we can't fix the medical system until we fix the legal system but we can't fix the legal system because of the political side of the legal system. There's a lot of money in doing legal work and they aren't just going to do something like make all lawyers public defenders so you can't buy better legal help which would be fair.

You can't make the change to the political system because it's rigged to hell and obfuscated so no one outside of it can really even know who has the power or how to influence that power without a shit load of money. You can't just vote for a candidate thats going to fix the legal system because there isn't one and likely never will be since it's against the interests of the people in charge.

People would have to come together in an organized fashion and make sure to spread the correct information and get everyone to actually vote and communicate about the issue but the average person is far too stupid to do even one of those things much less all them so the "correct democratic" way of fixing the problem has been made impossible. It will NEVER work. The only way the problem can really be solved is by someone who has power abusing the system but with the goal of making it better and so far, no one competent is doing that.

He wasn't perfect, but it was way better than a KKK fanboy that kicked off basically every bad idea currently going. I blame Wilson for 2020 sucking. His actions, directly and indirectly, are why we had Nazi Germany, the USSR's survival for so many years, the fucked up economic imbalances in the west, the Middle-East being carved up, etc. Without Wilson, things may have gone wrong in a different way, we will never know, but I find it pretty hard to picture them being worse.

Either that's how God made us, or there is no God. So, either we're the way we're suppose to be, or we only have ourselves to hold responsible for where we are right now, and to look to for making us better.
