Other than The Mandalorian, I legitimately have not followed or consistently watched any shows in multiple years, which is crazy to me because I used to binge everything and spend almost the same time watching TV as I did playing games.

I'm not sure why I fell off, but I did, and I've been wanting to get back into it especially because I have so much free time, but there is so much that I've watched some of and even more that I really want to watch for various reasons, and looking at my list makes it very difficult to commit.

TL;DR:

Here's a list of shows, in no order, I want to watch (and the seasons of them if I've already seen some), which ones should be at the top of my list so that I can finally get into it.

I would start by making the list more manageable and just slashing 3/4 of it.

watching tv shouldnt be a chore.

Daredevil and Jessica Jones are ones on that list liked a lot.

I'm positive I'll enjoy it, I just have this issue where it's so difficult for me to start anything at all and then as soon as I get into it I'll happily play/watch/read it until completion.

I also think I'm approaching another cycle of getting burnt out on gaming, so I need something to mix in to my life with little to no sports in the coming months.

I have this running joke going with my friends where they'll continue to recommend me things to watch knowing that I never watch anything and I "add it to the list" that is an abirtrary number of items long.

With that being said, Chernobyl is now #47 on my list of things to watch.

I'm thinking of doing this plus the last season of Punisher, Daredevil, and Jessica Jones because I really enjoyed what I watched of them, and then just scrapping the rest of the comic shows on the list other than a few of the new DC stuff, because it looks like the stuff at the bottom of the list is of a much higher quality.

I'd say start with the shorter, one-two season shows:

Good Omens (which is the second best book adaptation I've seen)
The Boys
Barry
Witcher
Etc.

All have short seasons, and a limited number of seasons.

Then watch the longer ones that have 20+ episode seasons

Better Call Saul is pretty much the only tv show I follow anymore, so I can't really say much here, other than that you should watch Better Call Saul.

Of that list and what I've seen, I would definitely recommend Better Call Saul, The Boys, and Good Omens. The Boys and Good Omens are both short investments so shouldn't be hard to knock out.

Barry and Better Call Saul the only two on that list that I recommend to people without knowing their interests, or who aren't already trying to fill a TV-shaped hole in their soul

I've enjoyed plenty of the other ones, but you've got to be in the mood to roll with their dumb parts

I'd honestly cut pretty much all the comic stuff except Watchmen and The Boys. I've tried to enjoy the netflix marvel stuff but they're all kind of... bad. Umbrella Academy I watch but I also acknowledge it's not a great show

Yeah, I can't remember how much of Better Call Saul I've watched already, but I know for sure it was at least a season and a half of it, and it's definitely the best of the shows that I've started on the list.

Not gonna quote reply to everyone who posted but general consensus seems to be that BCS and most of the stuff near the bottom of the list is worth watching in particular. I think what I'll do is what I said last night, and watch the second seasons of the Marvel Netflix stuff I really enjoyed (Punisher, Daredevil S3, JJ) and then just cut the rest of the comic stuff from the list, other than Watchmen. That way I can focus on the really good stuff at the bottom.

Starting with the shorter stuff makes sense as well. Part of the reason I fell off was because I was watching and catching up on 20+ episode per season shows at 45+ minutes a piece for multiple seasons, which got kind of tiring. If I manage to ever catch up on some of the higher tier shows on the list then I can circle back around to the DC stuff that I do have interest in but know is not of the same quality.

I should probably just not watch the Marvel Netflix stuff at all if I want the real quality, but it's only one season of each and they're limited in episodes as well, and I did enjoy them.
