Welcome to blah

The game is simple. The two* listed characters are placed in an (imaginary) location with a variety of (imaginary) environments, kind of like a picture in a child's schoolbook that describes different types of geological features. Within a ten mile radius, there is an (imaginary) urban downtown, exurbs, plains, snow-clad mountains at the edge, dry plains, etc. Fighters start wherever is most appropriate for them, but feel increasingly compelled to seek out their opponent and fight. Strong-willed fighters can try to hold out in their chosen environment for longer... eventually, all will succumb and actively search for the other to battle.

To participate, just vote in bold for whichever character you believe will win. Giving reasoning is optional, but please be polite and read what others have said and carefully make your decision. I'll ping the nominators (they can opt out) to give arguments if they wish.

I don't buy the "Maxwell will immediately make himself completely invincible" argument, and if there's anybody who will be able to launch a completely devastating, unexpected sneak attack, it's Jack. Maxwell isn't gonna be subtle and careful enough in his scouting to really understand Jack's relationship with the city

Like I said in the discussion topic, I don't think Maxwell has the offense - or the tactical ability - to deal with the living city. By the time he figures out what's going on, assuming he ever does, it'll be too late. And even if he were to go into the match with perfect foresight, what can he do? Drop a nuke? That would kill him too.

It's kind of funny that we're dropping the hammer on invincible Maxwell after he's won three matches that way, but yeah, this is probably more than he'll know how to deal with

Maxwell wouldn't make himself invincible again because he would lose points. Jack

Yeah, this. On the flip side, Jack can probably figure out Maxwell pretty easily: he writes in his notepad, stuff gets summoned.

Even if Maxwell does make himself invincible from the start, Jack has multiple ways to deal with it.
- Liquefy the pavement under Maxwell's feet to submerge/immobilize him.
- Transform the pavement into fists to punch the notebook out of Maxwell's hands, then just grab him. (This is way more feasible for Jack than for Armstrong because Jack doesn't have to go through Maxwell's summons, he just makes it happen wherever Maxwell is standing.)

Jack

A very simple and effective argument that Drakeryn put up, and I don't think that there's enough reaction time to deal with it.

Jack. Even Maxwell's "invincibility" has clear in-game limits, not that I think it'd be his immediate move

I may not start every scribblenauts mission with invincibility, but I pretty much always give Maxwell something that lets him fly.

How would Jack handle Maxwell who's in the air?
