For those unaware the Gateway Process was an alleged way to astral project, remote view, or expand consciousness studied by the CIA. You can view their official documents here:
https://www.cia.gov/library/readingroom/docs/CIA-RDP96-00788R001700210016-5.pdf

There's a book called The Men Who Stare at Goats that goes into this and other "out there" CIA projects. Do you think these projects have some validity or are they completely ridiculous? Or are they disinfo used by the CIA to push us off the scent of real intelligence projects?

Going off that, what do you think of the connection of these projects to Project Blue Book, where the CIA studied hundreds of claimed UFO encounters and utilized remote viewing to allegedly observe alien species. How valid do you find this? Real? Fabricated?

The CIA studying and researching something doesn't necessarily give it validity, but I still believe these projects and questions are worth discussing.

I think that if we ever figure out what Der Glocke actually was, we'd understand a lot more about Roswell, and all the weird shit NASA and the CIA had going on after Project Paperclip.

I'd say this topic would get more play on the Paranormal/Conspiracy board even if the board is a much slower burn, but Shamrock kind of ruins any topic he posts in. He's a slightly more belligerent version of me that believes ALL THE CONSPIRACIES. Especially ufo related things.

Roswell was a weather balloon carrying microphones listening for nuclear explosions in Russia that crashed. The UFO story was a coverup. Because, you know, you don't want your enemies to know you're spying on them with experimental tech.

I've known about shit like this and MK-Ultra longer than most PotDers have been alive, and I continue to not give much of a shit.

I'm more bothered by stuff like this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Sea-Spray
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Big_Buzz
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_LAC

Though the one we probably should have been paying more attention to is the results of this one:

Do you think the United States is more vunerable to biological warfare attacks like these, or EMP attacks? A combination of both together would likely be most effective/destructive, but from my understanding EMP technology is more readily available than biowarfare options. Regardless, yeah, this stuff is obviously more concerning and pertinent to our reality. Blue Book and the Gateway Process and related operations are mostly just "fun" things to talk about to me.

We laugh at them for being absurd, but imagine how we would feel if they didn't look into this and it turned out there was something to it and they could have done something about it?

No, I mean, I'm more worried about our own government dosing random people with "harmless" bacteria to see what would happen if enemy governments dosed us with harmful bacteria. It's not so much the idea of biological warfare in general, as much as the specific case of biological research that winds up being an issue because what was supposed to be completely safe... wasn't.

Plum Island comes up a lot in discussions like that as well. Stuff where it's not really conspiracy theory but official fact.

I think someone wanted a lot of easy government funding.
I think someone gave it to them on the slim chance that they got results.

"Heck yeah I want to astral project. It's not my money I'm wasting if this guy is just crazy."

Don't get me started on Plum Island PO, I'm from CT, and we all know how Lyme Disease got its name, I hope.
