This seems pretty useless. I mean even with 1TB PS4 I had to constantly delete games.

Yeah... i wonder if thats going to become an issue with the new consoles.

...orrrr, if im being a bit optimistic, it will just put some pressure on devs to be better at data compression. I have heard stories of games in the past where the devs had to get better at compression to get the game to fit. Something they dont have to do with Digital content, unless things change (Or they still are)

Pokemon Gold and Silver is the example i remember.

Skyrim on the Xbox 360 had an amazing compression technique.

Supposedly the SSD will make it so games can be much smaller (a lot of the filesize in newer games is asset redundancy to make it easier to load by putting them adjacent to other spots on disk so they can be read sequentially).

Ive speculated that could be a thing, as back when i borrowed ps4 games from the library, i NEVER had an installation fail, let alone the game crash due to disc damage, despite seeing that a LOT more with PS1,Ps2, and xbox 360 games

I did theorize that there was some redundancy in the discs, but never had anything confirmed.

Oof. Yeah, some games on last gen were 100gb. And you assume the size is only going to get larger, with better graphics/bigger games.
