I was in a debate about who the most famous athlete of all time is. Obviously OJ Simpson is here mostly because of the murder, but hey.

I think people mention OJ more often these days because the murder trial still comes up surprisingly often in discourse

Anagram suggested that because of the OJ Simpson trial, he is the most recognizable athlete in (US) history, and ed and I both shot back that this is not enough to supplant Michael Jordan as the most famous American athlete (although I do grant that OJ Simpson ranks fairly high in name recognizability in just the US)

Also anagram said he was going to ask board 8 and I said "they're going to side with us dude"

the OJ murder trial is a super big deal to people of a certain age but I wonder how many people even know he was a really good football player
