Regarding Abby leaving without a job lined up, it seems clearly (because she said so) tied to the timing of the purchase. To speculate there may be a really good severance package for not coming on board, or a specific reason she didnt want to join Red Ventures. That is the reason though.

This makes sense, but on the Beastcast she specifically said the purchase was the motivator to finally do "what she's been thinking about for awhile" (which was leave), so she just must not have been happy GB for some reason? I dunno, I feel like working with Vinny would be the dream.

Well yeah she was going to leave at some point in the foreseeable future, perhaps when a job came along.

Like she said, this was her first proper full time job out of college. This is also true for Drew and kind of Austin, they werent going to stay in the same place long term. Which is a bit sad, you would hope there would be a new generation to take over some day, but also kind of inevitable.

Also the split was a good thing because GBE is better than when there was only one studio. It just happens that the quality of content has been a bit disproportionate.

Waypoints is currently a better podcast than the Bombcast as long as Austin is on.

Dan was high highs and low lows. But he always brought great energy and enthusiasm.

Austin was, and continues to be awesome, because he takes a more nuanced and analytical approach than any current GB member. I can see how he might irritate you if you're a more right-wing (politically) but WayPoint almost always bring much more inciteful analysis than anything GB can offer.

On the topic of Waypoint I just want to say that I never would have guessed that Dan would give a more insightful, concise, and positive analysis of Evangelion than Austin and co but here we are.

That aside, I listen to Waypoint when they talk about a topic Im interested in and am broadly rewarded. I feel no compulsion to listen to every episode like I do with the Bombcast, but I think I enjoy it at its best more than the best recent Bombcasts.

I will say though, while Austin is vital, I think I prefer when Rob hosts because I like the chaos.

Production as in manning the booth, switching feeds, managing camera and mics, stuff like that.

I'm not forgetting Austin. He was all the worst parts of Patrick Klepek on steroids. I'll give him credit for the Kerbel series he and Vinny had, which was great (though mostly because of Vinny), but his "serious business SJW warrior/journalist" schtick was old after the first week. Also those stupid imagination game podcasts they did every Christmas were the absolute worst.

It's not actually hard to see why some wouldn't like them, since they are definitely a turn off to the right wing and gamergater crowds, which unfortunately is not a small portion of the audience.

Those people are pathetic, though, so you really just shouldn't take then seriously. It's a good thing GB themselves doesn't, either.
