Well he has said many times that he can't get sponsorship/promotions because of "trolls" and in the same breath derides people who get early access to games and tech.

With how big his ego is when it comes to his legacy, why wouldn't he feel jealous when smaller streamers get these opportunities when he doesn't?

If it waa an attempt at humor, why @ Sony and Playstation? Doing that makes it feel mean spirited. If he wanted to truly make a lighthearted jab/joke at him getting nothing, he wouldn't have done that, because all it will do is garner negative responses. Also, he did this JUST after SBM posted he got a free PS5. So all this makes it really hard to see it as anything than him being mean spirited/jealous and upset that he got nothing.

On top of that, at the start of his pre-stream he once again said that he will never ask for free stuff, and those receiving free stuff are paid shills. Which again feels like a stab to SBM. Everything he is doing, is just painting him in a negative light.

Phil is angry and pissed off he got nothing. And his behaviour is petty and childlike.

Luckily for us, Phil is a complete and utter moron and once again has no fucking clue what it is he is talking about. See, Phil believes he "one upped" the person adressed in the tweet, and now believes he has outed them as a liar who claimed to be a creative director at Stadia.

As you can see, Stadia is no longer in their bio. But now it says SG&E. Any one want to venture a guess what that stands for? It stands for Stadia Games & Entertainment.

Yes, Phil is so desperate for validation, popularity and attention, that he takes someone updating their twitter bio as a sign of him being right of calling them out as a liar, while it couldn't be further from the truth.

He makes himself look like a complete asshole.

It's not transformative. Even though a game might give you freedom however you want to go from A to B, you are still doing that within the confines of the game. You are not coming up with something original, you are using preprogrammed tools.

Ironically, exploits are transformative, because you are getting the game to do something it's not supposed to.

The only reason why companies like EA, Capcom, Activision, etc aren't taking down Twitch or streaming (even though they'd be in their right given the EULAs and current laws regarding copyright), is because it is literally making them money. They have people freely promoting their games, boosting sales.

You can bet your ass the second they start missing out revenue, shit will go down. It is always funny to hear "lawyer" Phil talk about shit he has no fucking clue about.

Look, I'm not claiming much knowledge about how laws work, but I don't think the video game companies would be able to do anything now because it's gone on for so long.

With my limited knowledge of law one of the few things I kind of know about is copyright law thanks for being a huge fan of pro wrestling for so long. Pro wrestlers have their real name of course, and they have their in ring game. The WWE and these workers have constantly battled over the rights to names forever, what does the WWE own and what do the workers own? I'm not going to break that down here for you, but I wanted to bring this up for one point - The WWE HAS to press claims on these gimmicks and names when there is a reason to.

For example, let's say a local indie show wants to do a Hell In The Cell match, a match type that is copy-written by the WWE. Now this local indie show might only make $2,000 at the gate for this show, and it isn't going to harm the WWE at all, so why would they press their claim and stop it? It's not that their being jerks, it's because they HAVE to protect their IP, if they don't then. . .I'm not sure how to phrase this next part. If they allow 1 company to use it with out legal permission, then in the eyes of the court they don't really care about the IP and they will allow others to use it as well.

Something like that. Like I said, I don't really know, it's just that this sort happens in pro wrestling and I read about it. But it could be the same here, their not protecting their IP, so in the eyes of the law, they don't really care about it and they will not have much of a leg to stand on if they try to make it an issue.

My knowledge is pretty limited, too, as far as DMCA and everything goes. Whenever you purchase a game, whether it's physical or digital, you are purchasing the license to play that game. You are NOT purchasing a license to stream that game to hundreds/thousands of people, but publishers/developers haven't really cracked down on that and don't care. You might see some companies, such as Atlus or those with visual novel-type games, restrict access to streaming, but they generally receive a huge backlash now because streaming/Let's Plays are so far along. There might even be some judges that will go in the favor of these streamers, calling their work transformative, but you don't usually see court cases often centering around this subject. Fair Use and streaming/Youtube are a pretty gray area in the law, and they definitely need updating (as well as DMCA, in general).

At one point there was a breastfeeding scene, and Phil acted like the most immature little shit I have ever seen. He was clowning it up hard, laughing uncomfortably and just bring insufferable.

Bullying and harassment of a single person should be something taken down, imo. I don't give a shit about DSP's feelings, but I do for kids and people that have really low self-esteem. So I think that should be against the rules of social media.

Pretty much this, he talks for an hour but says very little. It always boils down to money.

Speaking of money, Phil needs a lot of it, since his money to buy a PS5, games and head set has dried up. He has to buy a dozen games at the same time, he HAS to. He can't just buy games on a week to week basis (because he can't play every game at the same time) it has to happen right now. He is fishing hard for people to buy him stuff, he began hinting at his Amazon wishlist again.

Speaking of pre-streams, Phil said he can't ride a bike and never learned to. The reason? His friend got beat up by thugs and had his bike stolen.

Someone asked how much Phil needs in tips to be "secure". Phil's response was that "there is no 'okay' amount of tips". He can literally never have enough or too much money. Makes you wonder why he has a tipsgoal to begin with, if no amount of money is ever going to be enough.

Another "tough guy" story. Phil basically had to follow a diversity class centered around Native Americans. The teacher apparantly was bad at his job, but called Phil lousy, so Phil wrote him a devastating e-mail that his teacher sucked and that Phil could get him in a lot of trouble for not doing his job right. The teacher was so devastated that he couldn't even write a mail back.

Oh and of course, everyone in his class agreed with Phil.

Take this with a grain of sakt, but apparantly Twitch is looking to implement their own tips system, and taking a cut from that up to 50%, like they do with subs. People can only donate through Twitch's tip system, so that nullifies things like Paypal.

Now again, this is hearsay. But it would be fucking hilarious if Twitch would dip their hand in Phil's cookie jar. Imagine the salt and pure anger. This would really hurt Phil as well. I can see him getting his fans to donate more, so it covers Twitch's feea, but eventually their funds will dry up too.

Hell, it would cause an avalanche of salt if this got implement across all streamers. I am really curious to see how this develops.

Quick summary.

According to Phil, if Twitch goes through with it, there will be a mass exodus including himself.

Phil believes that Twitch is not entitled to his money, even though they provide the means HOW he makes money.

Compared it to a waiter losing 50% of their tips, but forgetting they make hourly and are actually employed.

Like I said, its only a rumour. But even though it is a rumour, it's funny watch Phil flail around when someone threatents to stick their hand in his cookie jar. I am going to take with a grain of salt, but it IS Twitch we are talking about, I wouldn't put it past them. But until we see something credible from Twitch them selves, I'll just enjoy wathcing Phil make a fool out of himself.

I would think a majority of streamers would be mad about this, since tips through Paypal are one of the better things a lot of them will highlight, although not to the extent that Phil does (since he needs that money NOW). It's just weird that this is the first I've heard of this rumor, considering I watch Twitch everyday and I glanced at the Twitch subreddit and saw nothing at all on there. I would imagine a rumor of this magnitude would be making their rounds already.
