Yet again he refuses to answer. After his response on the debate stage and now this, he might as well just be giving a resounding yes.

Its the usual political game. If he gives an answer either way it will be held against him if opposite happens when he is elected. So they avoid question.

Why should he have to? Either answer will alienate people

Meanwhile you're OK with Trump not denouncing white supremacists which is objectively worse also because it will alienate people?

Well if they manage to postpone Barrett's nomination then it won't matter one way or another. Court packing is still a little divisive among the Democrats I think - and showing their hand on doing it now might further incite Republicans on rushing Barrett or using it as a rallying cry going into November

If he said he will, Republicans will use that to justify rushing their nominee.

If he says no, then does it, Republicans will use his words against him.

There's no need to give a public answer to this hypothetical scenario until the other shoe (Amy) drops.

Not really much of a point in answering it

I personally hope to god he does it. Conservatives have pretty well ruined the judiciary with their activist judges

He's probably taking a "wait and see" approach. If court packing is really necessary, he'll do it I figure, but if he commits to it now and loses, what's to stop Trump from adding more judges now that the Dems have openly admitted to wanting to do so? Plus, who knows if he'll even have the votes to push it through if he gets elected. That's my "out of my ass" opinion.

Because the entire thing is predicated on whether or not Trump rams a justice through like he rammed underage girls at Epstein's parties.

If Dems stall the confirmation process enough, there's no need to pack the court. It would be an entirely reactionary decision.

Now, why are you not getting as upset about Trump not answering the healthcare questions, or denouncing white supremacists?

Absolutely nothing.

Then there'd be nothing to stop Democrats doing it the time after that.

The GOP is going to play filthy whenever they get the slightest morsel of influence or power but it's time the Democrats stopped hemming and hawing about big structural reforms because they're afraid of what Republicans might do.

This is what you think. You don't know this because he won't answer. That's the problem.

And this is a topic about Biden, not Trump. There are plenty of Trump topics to discuss our grievances with him.

getting enough votes to do it after going full trump. They could have set up their next 20 years by just impeaching him, instead they've quadrupled down and alienated away voters and creating opposition vote motivation when they need voter apathy.

*touch wood*

But the senate appears to be drifting further and further away from the GOP this cycle

Year started with Maine and Colorado being the only two real pickup opportunities for Democrats

Now you have Arizona and North Carolina lining up to be fairly likely to swing towards Dems

And you have Georgia, Iowa, fucking South Carolina, fucking Mississippi where Democrats are either consistently tied or closed gaps in polling.

2020 is to the GOP in the senate as 2018 was to the Democrats in the senate

they're playing defensive in way too many areas

I really wouldn't put much faith in SC or Mississippi. They're very red, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a thumb on the scale in Georgia, as there was in 2018.
Even so, the Democrats having a good year is simply a drop in the bucket compared to the overall trend, and likely to mostly go to waste, in any case.

Eh, fair but they're definitely not impossible. I don't think SC or MS will flip, I'm just using the weakness of the incumbents there to point to how defensive the GOP has ended up having to play it this year.

Georgia I think is a decent shot. Ossoff's a not terribly awful candidate and I think he could pull it off.

The other election there is a nah though

I mean not to admonish, but if everyone had an attitude like that then it would definitely go to waste. Alls I'm sayin

It's honestly dumb and pointless to talk about it. The important issue is the Supreme Court vacancy right now. I believe Biden pointed out during the debate that whatever answer he gives will become the issue, so he's honestly smart not to answer.

It's absolutely amazing that you are worried about an answer that is entirely reactionary and will have only a negative reaction regardless of what he chooses.

But don't seem to care at all that trump fails time and time again to denounce white supremacy and actually encouraged the proud boys....

pretty much this. hell, the whole reason this is even an issue right now is because bitch used the "nuclear option" to remove the need for a 2/3 majority vote.

pretty sure they'll try impeaching justices first. might even work if investigations after trump leaves office show he's compromised.
