I'm having trouble understanding which of these would not be a question of metaethics:

  • what is moral goodness?
  • what principles govern whether an action is right or wrong?
  • are there objective moral facts?
  • what are people doing when they make moral judgments?

Serious question: Why would you want to study meta-ethics? What specifically interested you that made that one of your courses?

It's a required course for practicing in the medical field in my curriculum.

The first question is one of ethics because it deals with ethics as such. The remainder are metaethical questions because they are questions about ethics rather than about what is morally good or bad, etc.

https://quizlet.com/344246268/quiz-6-flash-cards/

This person's quizlet says it's the second one wtf

But it's also the only quizlet with this question and I can't take that as a sole source... could be a troll

lmao wat, the question of how we define "goodness" is like the foundation of meta ethics

I think they are basically making sure you dont base your decisions off of biased sources, like religion or your parents, and rather if you are capable to think critically when it comes time to make life or death decisions in your job.

these are the reasons i was going to state for the case of being the second one

the second one is basically asking what is an ethical action and what is an unethical action

Yeah but I'm hesitant because it's asking about principles which is more broad but I think it is the best fit out of all of them

The 2nd one is the only question that can be interpreted as not being part of meta ethics.

1- An action you feel comfortable doing, that makes you happy.
2- None.
3- No.
4- Imposing their own beliefs on others.

Militarist and spiritual ethics are meta in Stellaris. Extra unity for traditions add up really quick, extra fleet power early on means by the time you're using early carrier cruisers you can't be stopped, influence gains from early wars can more than add up to huge net gains which snowball absurdly fast, and you'll have a lot easier time simply convincing friendly neighbors to become your tributary and eventually vassal, while also acting as extra space to protect your main empire from outsiders. Plus with possibly the exception of hit and run for evasion against endgame crisis factions, you'll not really lose out in gains simply using no retreat against whatever. Oh no, they killed 2 cruisers, I already have 12 being built in queue for three or more systems to reinforce the fleet at whatever station I've designated as my repair one in enemy territory.
