But that's exactly the point: It doesn't. There are at least three very plausible explanations for adopting black children despite being racist:

They're all very specific and not very likely at all. I can rattle reasons like that off for conspiracy theories, they're just not very sound.

It's like "I have black friends" (which is a mitigating factor) with a lock-in of 18 years. It's a substantial restriction any actual racist wouldn't want to subject themselves to, and even if they choose to, must br capable of keeping their opinions to themselves and not effecting others with their racism. A racist who never does anything racist is not a problem.

Nope! It seems you've fallen for the propagandist who now deleted their original tweet.

The original tweet, now deleted, said that Amy Coney Barrett can't be racist because she has Black kids. Kendi pointed out that racist white people have, in fact, sometimes adopted Black kids.

I'm not talking about the kid's biological parents, I'm talking about a hypothetical black family that might otherwise adopt the kid if she didn't. A racist might view adopting a black child as saving them from having black parents, which is an extension of the attitude that allows racists to have black friends (that is, considering Bob to be a good person despite being black, while still thinking ill of black people as a whole).
