I started this the other day at the insistence of a friend. They are super into it and even said some blasphemous things like swordz9. But it seems alright so far. I'm not into the generic anime aesthetic or care about waifus at all but at least the world is pretty to look at. I'm playing on PS4 Pro as well and haven't really noticed the performance having many issues.

Played a ton last night and I'm loving it.

I wouldn't call it better than BotW by any stretch but the quality of life differences are really nice (weapons don't break, don't fall from climbing, when it rains, can cook faster and eat faster)

Haven't run into any hiccups on the ps4, except for the occasional pop from something in the background.

I can understand preferring no weapon durability or the rain while climbing thing, those things didn't bother me and in fact I enjoyed having to find alternate routes and methods of travel when it rained, but I get it.

The metal + thunderstorm thing is worse in GI IMO because it means I can't toss my weapon to bait enemies into getting shocked or other stuff like that. Loved combat in thunderstorms in BOTW.

Dont need to throw weapons in Genshin when the rain makes enemies wet so you can electrocute them yourself

Breath of the Wild without weapon durability was all the explanation I needed to consider this game.

Did Xianglings first quest. This girl will eat/cook literally anything. It was nice seeing a glimpse of a new region though.

I would actually give this a try if there was more variety in the characters. I cant get past literally all of them being Waifu or Husbando bait. Needs way more variety, like animal characters :)

A decent amount of them seem to have animal partners they can call into battle for a bit. Not the same thing though.

Didn't care for her eccentricity or moveset, but I'll give her another try when/if I pull her. I liked the Olaf plot, though.

Since then, I've run into a couple Liyue citizens in the city, and they're fairly pretentious. Between them and the Fatui, I'm kinda tired of everyone shitting on Mondstadt

There's a lot of quality of life stuff this will need before it's passable. As it stands it's only for late game grinding because guests only get mob drop awards.

I mean if you're playing with friends it's okay if you just do domains with each other, which are basically dungeons. Or miniboss fights, that's fine too, though guest only gets drops. Not even quest exp. The game is firmly single player with co-op tacked on to say it exists and maybe work on later.

I love when the game switches to those neat visuals when it starts telling an old tale. Did Lisas first quest and shes pretty great. Definitely has the best one of the 3 beginner characters youre given.

Only Adventure level 9 right now, and quite loving how this game looks and feels. Granted, I'm no stranger to gacha games, so all these things to level and ascend are no mystery to me, I know the crawl this game will inevitably demand, but this game being 3D with the emphasis it places on exploration makes me feel like I can take a more laid back approach. Other gachas I've played, you hit a content wall, and that's about it, but this game? Half the time I'm doing some quest to advance a bit, the other half I'm doing bs parkour glider nonsense just because I can. I'm sure navigating the environment will get a little old, but it's a huge advantage this game currently has over any other entry in the genre I've played.

Spent most of today playing and having a ton of fun. Im up to rank 17 now so not much longer until I get Barbara. I tried her out in the trial section and her healing seems like it will be nice to have. Not too fond of the archers gameplay wise. You just dont really get the chance to charge up shots without constantly dashing back after each shot and their regular shots dont get any elemental power I think

Also rank 17. I had intended to make some headway in the main quest, but ended up spending the day exploring Liyue

Speaking of archers, I fought a boss (Ruin Guard, I think) that was perpetually in the air. I didn't have Amber and Lisa was down, so I couldn't attack it. Just had to quit the fight..

I did some rerolling and finally ended up with an account I'm satisfied with after rolling Venti and a couple 4*s. So now I can play this in earnest. It's seemed plenty fun though.

How long does it take to reroll/is it worth it/who should i go for.

Officially in Liyue. Damn this region looks incredible.

if you rush it, 20-30m or so.
there's a few characters who make the game much easier. Venti (5*) and Fischl (4*) are two popular ones. the latter easily outdoes most characters and only a handful of 5* are competitive. since she's a 4* she's not THAT hard to get. combined with water or fire users, she goes from good to amazing. if you get any 5* though might as well keep 'em, they vary in usefulness but all are strong. just be aware that the rate is quite low and the game is entirely PvE and almost exclusively single player.

it isn't necessary and the game does give you a greatsword user that uses earth for a guaranteed character in your first roll (tank with burst damage and minor healing), it gives you a healing water mage at rank 20, and it gives you a fire polearm user when you can clear high enough content. only the last one there seems to be a permanent addition, the other two are for early adopters. said water mage is typically built for healing but people have gotten some impressive results with her as a DPS unit too, especially since her healing is also based off her attack/damage so uh... yeah. kill shit faster and heal.

Got my Barbara. Finally a real healer. Noelle is still solid though. Man there are so many characters I want to use and not nearly enough active spots for them. Just been exploring Liyue now since Ive got a quest to meet someone there anyways. Keep getting sidetracked by other sidequests and just checking out everything I can. Goddamn this game is beautiful and if it can fix the minor frame rate drop in an update it will be even more enjoyable. Cant wait to see what the other regions look like.

Using the mains wind Super next to open fire and creating a fire tornado is fun

there's a reroll guide out there for how to do it right on reddit or the main wiki, i believe there's two main re-roll points people have depending on how many pulls on banners they can do. did hear some people had issues when they did it wrong with account bans or whatever but honestly... this is one of those games where re-rolling doesn't seem THAT useful compared to just playing regularly right now. the game is heavily based around elemental combos. barbara can be obscenely powerful, heals, and is free. noelle may not be THAT good 90% of the time but once you get the hang of her she's alright and has those brief moments of being top DPS in the game (recharge on this suuuucks though and she needs some serious energy recharge bonuses).

re-rolling for venti just seems like mathematical hell where it's probably best to just take the pity system for a 5* and manually keep track instead.

You need Adventurer Rank 7 by completing the prologue. Otherwise you only have enough to do your 10 pull on the beginner banner.

I got two Fischls, a Razor, a Xiangling, and a Ningguang off of all the free stuff and that electric pair is a delightful combo. I did the Venti trial and I really, really want him, but I absolutely can't complain about what I've pulled, especially given the abysmal rates.

I just started last night, but I'm super hooked already and ended up playing like 16 hours over the last two days combined. It has some serious performance issues and it's definitely lacking in polish in a lot of areas, but I'm still having a lot of fun with it regardless.

Best Reroll targets IMO are Diluc, Qiqi and Venti.

Keqing, Jean and Mona are not actually that crazy.

Fischl is maybe the best character in the game being honest. You should be happy with her IMO.

Man this game has some kinda dark NPC dialogue despite all the bright colors and cute stuff.

I just play with whoever I want because if I cared about ideal draws and setups Id never get anywhere. So far its been working fine.

So just a heads up. If you sit down, and then press another button that does something during the animation of you sitting down, you will forever be stuck in the chair. The only way to get out is to completely restart the program.

After my initial one-hour stint the other day, I finally played this again for a bit and got to adventurer rank 10. There are so many game systems that I clearly don't understand, and the fan wiki was not useful at all.

1) I had Lisa and was controlling her for quite a while, and she remained level 1 the whole time, until I "paid" to level her up. I don't think that's how it's supposed to work. That's just for a boost, right?
2) Is there any actual point to leveling -- like, there's skills and talents in one part of my character screen, but I don't have any idea how you acquire those.
3) Is there a way to earn the currency that lets you roll again?
4) My adventurer handbook is stuck on tier 2 until I improve a weapon to level 10, but how do I improve a weapon?
5) Is there a way to heal without food?

I have more, but I can accept that I'll eventually figure those out along the way.

Surprised you managed to avoid tutorials for some of these?

1. If you go to the character screen and Attributes, the Level Up button is in the bottom right. Not sure what you mean by 'paid'.
2. It increases stats. I believe acquiring talents is done from getting dupes of the character.
3. You mostly get primogems from doing quests and exploring, which you can then exchange for the gacha currency.
4. If you go to the character screen and go to Weapons, there's an Enhance button in the bottom right.
5. I know the Statues will do it. I assume there are other methods too.

I apparently have a knack for these things.

1 - The level up button in the corner doesn't level up the character. It puts you on a screen where you have to expend the regular game currency and then your character shoots up a bunch of levels.

4 - If that's the case, then I'm just dumb for not noticing.
