so i get this plate of plain noodles and theres the butter dish to the side; that's it

"what the fuck where is the sauce?"

she's like "i didn't say it was spaghetti and sauce for dinner, i said it was spaghetti for dinner"

i don't think we've ever had a bigger fight i think i might break up with her

Why is everyone missing the fact she gave a side of butter? You can make an amazing fettuccine alfredo with just fettuccine (or spaghetti), butter, and some parmesano regianno. It requires emulsifying the butter and cheese with some of the pasta water though.

You will notice that any time you order at a restaurant, or buy a frozen meal, or the like, it will be labeled as something like: "Spaghetti and Meatballs" or "Spaghetti with Meat Sauce"

Spaghetti is just the noodle. If she said she was making "spaghetti" and not "spaghetti and/with X" then she didn't lie or deceive you. You made the assumption that there was going to be sauce or meat, but she never said there would be.

If you dont like what your SO makes, make your own thing instead of acting like a child about it. My husband eats what I make without complaint. If he doesnt like it, he makes his own food. But hes a grown man and doesnt expect me to make him food.

That probably has to do more with legal requirements for proper labeling in food. No regular person says we're having spaghetti for dinner and means just spaghetti. Sure you can say with meatballs, but no one actually says spaghetti and sauce. Spaghetti is a normally common term to mean spaghetti and sauce.

I mean when you have pancakes do you mean just pancakes or do you just know it means with syrup to? Same as cereal. If someone asks you if you want cereal do they put just the cereal on the table or the cereal with the milk?

I do most of the cooking in both my past marriage and current relationship, Im simply a better cook. If I say were having spaghetti tonight, there will be sauce. Otherwise, Id just say buttered noodles. And honestly, buttered noodles are for a 5 year old.

That doesn't work. You need a third piece of bread, then it becomes a sandwich. Preferable if you toast the inner piece of bread to give it a different texture.

Anyways, I see nothing wrong with there not being sauce. I only put like oil, garlic, dried peppers and Parmesan cheese on my spaghetti.

If I tell my girlfriend Im making chicken for dinner and she comes to the table and theres two pieces of chicken on the table and nothing else, I would expect to ask for sides. Having spaghetti with no sauce prepared is pretty weird. If youre making dinner, you make dinner. She sounds like a toddler.
