There is a lot going on with the visuals in this area and the traps are ridiculously hard to see. SilentSeph 09/25/20 11:48:26 PM #35:	Don't feel bad, I have died 131 times so far and an embarrassing amount of those deaths were in world 1, including 1-1. The furthest I've made it is 5-1. I enjoyed the first game, but I never actually beat it and I'm just gonna keep throwing myself at this game until I clear it. I recommend changing the default speed from run to walk. Take things slow and analyze everything that's on the screen before moving onwards. Learn what all of the enemies and traps do and pick your routes and battles carefully. And generally you want to be carrying something all the time to set off arrow traps and sometimes attack enemies. I don't know the exact mechanics behind it, but it's the only way I was able to get it done. I've found that if you pick them up and then put them down somewhere waaaay out of the way sometimes they fall asleep and don't follow you through the level. I don't know the exact mechanics behind it, but it's the only way I was able to get it done. Also helps to know that the big fish at the bottom of 4-2 (chinese water level version) always drops a helper, and you can generally whip it to death in safe spot at the bottom right. I had 32 bombs and literally couldn't bomb my way to the end of 4-4 before the hired hand woke up and immediately cannonball'd into spikes. Plus other super unlucky stuff like poison ticking my last health right before the final exit. But glad that part's over! Now for the golden key...
