Keep in mind that Mega Man went 50/50 with Pikachu twice while Snake went 50/50 with Zelda and stomped Sonic. It would probably be 55/45 or so.

As of last character battle, Snake beat Sonic worse than Crono and Pikachu (both all but equal to Mega Man) beat Bowser and Yoshi. I dont have much respect for Sonics strength but Bowser/Yoshi > Sonic isnt very likely.
And while Snake has declined a lot and may continue to do so, while three ways and 2013s general wonkiness make it hard to judge precisely, Mega Man 2018 had probably declined too; at the very least he didnt meet some of the higher expectations of him. He seemed stronger in 2013 when people were excited about his Smash announcement, hyped about Mighty No. 9, and angry at Capcom than 2018 when the first two of those projects actually came to fruition and Capcom made another real Mega Man game. --- [NO BARKLEY NO PEACE] [NO Azuarc NO PEACE] ... Admittedly I was going off of Snake getting destroyed by Samus, and Mega Man's franchise being in better health than Snake's. Yeah Snake should win that.

Because Tifa is SFFing her. 1-on-1, Aerith was already stronger than Vincent in 2018 and outperformed Squall on Zelda too. 2018 Aerith wouldnt need too big a boost to make Auron/Aerith a tossup for FFs #4 either.
