Egg Scramble is still garbage

I started playing two nights ago, Ive won 4 times so far. I love the races. Ive won every final course except Hex-a-Gone.

I won my first Hex-A-Gone last night, which is the last game I had yet to win. I'm up to 10 victories even overall now.

I prefer Egg Scramble to any of the tail games pretty easily.

I played for 2 Hours last night and only made one final showdown, and that was only because the 2nd round was a slime climb where there were 39 of us to start and only six qualified.

Oh and on slime climb I had two games where people intentionally blocked those yellow tubes you have to walk across, basically ensuring no one could get past that part when the slime rose.

Dive into them to knock them off next time. I actually had someone block me on a balance beam for the first time today, but it was on Hit Parade of all things so I ended up finishing in 4th anyway. I'm STUPID good at the racing games aside from Tip Toe and Door Dash- basically any racing game that isn't luck based I can consistently crush... aside from Fall Mountain

Egg Scramble is trash but I was watching xqc and started implementing his strategy which has both made the game much more fun and easier to win.

After the initial grabbing of the eggs, pick the team that is lowest in eggs, other than your own, and instead of trying to steal their eggs and bring them back, simply grab and throw their eggs right out of their net. In the time it takes someone to carry an egg all the way back to their net, you've thrown 5 eggs out, and because they keep grabbing their eggs to put them back in, there's less people stopping you from throwing more eggs out. It also means they're too busy putting their eggs back in to screw around with your team's eggs.

I have yet to lose after starting to do this.

How do you throw eggs? I see it happen but I don't know how it works

If you jump and let go of the grab button they kind of get thrown. It's less of a throw and more of a push, they don't go very far but it's enough.

slime climb and jinx and fruit chute are basically exit show games for me. I like the other team games a lot.

Im still really enjoying the game but Im noticing balance issues. Yesterday I did a game of Fall Mountain with 16 people. There were three rows of 5 people each, and then I was alone in the 4th row. Yeah I had no chance. I also a game of Jinxed where my team had 19 players and the other team had 21.

after finally getting the hang of slime climb, I've died on the yellow bars now like 4 times in a row. Jumping to the second one, I'm all of a sudden teetering over like I'm on a seesaw, which hasnt happened before. It's getting kind of annoying.

I have played Jump Showdown enough to add it to my rankings now

1. Hex A Gone - best game by a wide margin, good mix of win with skill or lose due to falling 6 floors at once
2. Slime Climb - the skill game, great to have it round 1 and go 60 to 7 players
3. Block Party - this game has potential to be so much better, but i like the base idea here, they need a few more challenging obstacles
4. Jump Showdown - Great evolution of Jump Club
5. Jump Club - this basically never comes up, but its hilarious watching people get stuck on the bar and whipped around
6. Roll Out - another game with huge potential to be made much better
7. Door Dash - anarchy
8. The Whirlygig - great obstacle course
9. Hit Parade - i like the way its laid out
10. Fall Mountain - easy to win fairly often
11. Dizzy Heights - really easy to win almost every time
12. Tip Toe - fun
13. Gate Crash - love doing flips from diving over a rising gate
14. Fall Ball - so fun to win 11-0 camping the center
15. Hoarders - Fun as long as you aren't on the bad team (Yellow)
16. Perfect Match - needs to be an elimination game instead of just 3 rounds
17. Rock N Roll - sucks when you have a moron teammate who runs way ahead at the start to grief others long before they are even there
18. Fruit Chute - love seeing someone just get wrecked with a full speed watermelon
19. See Saw - why do so many people not understand how see saws work?
20. Hoopsie Daisy - is fine, just dull to me
21. Jinxed - can be really fun, grabbing mechanics work best here but that is not saying much
22. Egg Scramble - grabbing mechanics are wonky, hence why this and tail games are all last.
23. Tail Tag - timer too long
24. Team Tail Tag - timer too long
25. Royal Fumble - timer too long, horribly designed game, stand around hugging MSG for 90 seconds before even moving

Questions for you all: Would you like Royal Fumble better if the winner was based on who held the tail for the most amount of time based on a cumulative total? My wife suggested the idea and I really dug it.

My second question: Does anyone know if this game has been a success financially speaking for the company? I want them to keep going with this.

It's the top selling game on steam and seems low budget so i can't see how it wouldn't have been successful

A lot of people suggest this, but while it might be more fair, I don't think it would really be more fun to play. I know for one thing once someone had the tail for any decent amount of time most people would just stop playing, knowing they wouldn't be able to catch up, which would be really boring. The idea that you can still win by even in the last second is a good thing to encourage people to keep trying. Sometimes to you need to have that allure of a last chance comeback to make things interesting.

To put it another way, take note of the complaints about Fall Mountain, where people feel like if they don't start in first they don't have any chance of winning. While not technically true, the odds are still against you, and it doesn't feel fun to play with that idea in your head. Changing Royal Fumble's rules would feel like ten times that. Even if it sucks to have the tail forever and you lose it right before the end, I think overall it's still more of a fun party game for everyone that way.

The issue with Royal Fumble is that whoever starts with the tail has a huge advantage as it is, so switching it to total time with the tail just increases that advantage further. You could alleviate that somewhat by having the tail start in the middle and you have to go get it, but then... Yeah. People are just gonna quit once they're mathematically eliminated.

team tail tag is the one that should accumulate time. Since every team starts on an even playing field. It would lead to some more interesting swings instead of last second 5-4-3 swings.

For some reason I'm actually fine with the tail games. It can be frustrating at times but overall I like them.

I just don't like team games most of the time and Egg Scramble falls into that, I just hate fucking with other people so I don't want other people fucking with me.

Team Tail Tag is the worst team game because once you have a tail, all you can do is run. So if your teammates are lacking, you can't really do anything to step up your game and try to make up for their lack of catching tails.

Yeah I figured if I attempted that I would be more likely to lose my tail. There's also the thought of letting a less skilled teammate steal my tail so I could go get another, but that doesn't work without proper communication.

Last time I did that my ally didn't realize i already had a tail, walked by the person I grabbed, and then I got my tail stolen shortly after.

yeah, i remember a team tail tag where i had the tail and was standing in a corner, no one around. My teammate comes up to me, steals my tail, then runs away, and gets it stolen by another team within seconds. That was pretty frustrating,

One game I wish would come up more is Slime Climb. Its great how it always drops the field to less than 10 players.

Won next game with a very easy hexagon. I ended up with the entire 2nd and 3rd floor to myself.

It was extra satisfying because I was the last survivor in Jinxed so it felt like I deserved it

Managed to finish my last two Egg Scramble games with one of the opposing teams having 1 egg left in their net thanks to the strategy I posted about earlier. It continues to work well!

I like egg scramble! It has strategy to it

The only ones I don't find particularly satisfying are the final race levels. I love races in the early stages when there are tons of people, but sometimes I'll start in the front Fall Mountain and go 'welp, guess I win now'. You can still win if you start in the back row, but you have to cross your fingers and hope the people in front run into avoidable obstacles. Since the level is short and you're not forced to bump into anything, it's very likely that they won't

Did a game of Fall Mountain and made it to the top first. Jumped for the crown, hit R2 just as I came in contact with it, and bounced off of it (maybe I pressed it a little too early/late). I havent made it to the top first before because this was also the first time I started in the front row. How small is the window for grabbing it while coming in contact with it?

Just jump and hold R2 immediately for the entire jump, there's no window.

The bulletkin from Gungeon is pretty cool but there's no way I'm farming 10 crowns to unlock it before it leaves. I also don't think it would replace my Hotline Miami rooster.

I could see this game going crazy with 3rd party skins but I have a feeling those are going to be money only skins.

lol, i doubt they need to beg, they're huge right now

it's a good use of social media to be tagging other developers, it makes fans of those other games feel excited about potential crossover costumes

Their social media person is a little cringy at times but I don't see this, they retweet community stuff of people making "potential collabs" if that's what you mean? I haven't seen them begging other companies for stuff

Fall Guys community manager is great. He used to work at Bossa Studios and did update videos for World's Adrift and I would watch them long after I stopped playing the game.

Also, in double checking something while writing that previous post, I realised this is the same developer that made Murder by Numbers? I heard good things about that, been meaning to check it out.
