Voting is a minimum action that should 100% be done, but the suppression of votes is happening and is going to affect things. If we just repeat "vote" in the face of these efforts and do nothing to combat them, we take a huge risk that this will be viewed as a normal election in which "the young people and the libs just didn't turn out, too bad, another 4 years for Trump, the silent majority has spoken." If that happens, that will quite literally be the end of our democracy, no hyperbole. It'll be all downhill from there.

We have to make sure our votes are counted in the normal process of things first and foremost and we need to direct energy to that, not just telling people to vote like everything is going smoothly. If there's a huge discrepancy between the votes and the polls, people will just say the polls failed, not that the election was stolen, even though it was.

There are two courses of action when facing off against a cheating team: A) lose, and later try to get them brought to justice over it (and likely lose at that too), or B) do your damnedest to run the score up so far over their heads that even their cheating can't help them. At which point you can then follow up with option A.

Just want to chime in to counter any "this is hopeless, no-one will stop anything, there's no point" sentiment. This is absolutely terrible what's going on, and considering how brazenly the Republican party have interfered with your right to vote, it's completely understandable to feel gutted about what's going on.

But the second you roll over, that's a win for the shitheads who have created this scenario. Above all else, you have to fight this to the bitter end. You need to exercise your right to vote, and you need to do everything in your power to attempt a challenge against these actions. Even if it fails, at least you can say that you tried to quell the rise of fascism.

The second you succumb to the doomer mentality, the Republicans have won a victory over you - all they have to do is demoralize and disenfranchise enough of their opponents to win, and submitting to this mindset makes their victory that much more certain. Even if it feels hopeless, to the point you've totally given up, even if the Republicans will do everything in their power to discount your vote and cheat their way to the top, you need to challenge it until the results are called. Even if the system has been intentionally fucked to discard your vote, you need to vote. If only to go down with the ship and say you tried, in the face of your rights as an American citizen being violated.

Also to tag on to counter the hopeless mentality, it can almost be guaranteed the Post Office workers would intentionally focus on mail in ballots/letters in general during the lead up to/during November.

That's what I usually do anyway. The courthouse is like 3 blocks from my office, whereas my assigned polling place is several miles out of my way

I've been trying to get my wife to see and understand how he is directly infringing on our rights as citizens and how that should scare anyone regardless of your political identity. He is trying to restrict voting access, has talked about delaying the election.

Both of these on their own should have people remembering what led to the creation of our nation in the first place. It isn't about your guy or our guy or their guy. This guy is total scum and is trying to break down what our country is supposed to stand for.

1) If mail in voting was not a thing, does the post office still need 25 billion?

2) Is all that money worth it to have mail in voting instead of just going out to vote like normal?
