Board 8 > Devil May Cry V is leaving Game Pass in four days. Is it worth a playthrough?

I liked DMC3, but havent played any others.

I do enjoy a good character action game though Im not interesting in getting S ranks or perfecting anything, just finishing a playthrough.

Worthwhile/possible to do in 4 days?

Definitely yes. DMCV is great and gives a general summary of the series events at the start. Granted, having played DMC4 first would have been better but it still has you covered I think.

Yeah the whole game takes about 10-15 hours for 1 playthrough and I'd say it's worth it. Three playable characters with pretty different play options and a good enough story.

Definitely. It sits next to DMC3 as the best of the series.

In terms of pure gameplay it's better than even 3, absolutely worth a playthrough and it's quick enough that you could do it in that time.

The music syncing up with your style rank is one of the best things they've ever done in the genre. Hitting triple SSS with all the characters is great.

Anyway, Im fucking loving this. The sheer amount of weapons and combos you can work with in battle is just great.

If you're on the second to last chapter you can definitely finish up, the last two chapters are short ones.

Well hidden buster you can do with Nero against Vergil and one of the coolest moves in the game. It's so cool it forces the lyrics to kick in.

Nero actually has even more options on a second run as he keeps his new moves from the final boss, basically giving him his DMC4 kit on top of everything he can already do with the different arms. He even has unique busters for the bosses in certain situations.

Nero's expanded moveset after you beat the game is so ridiculous. Like he was already a ton of fun but this game really closed the gap between him and Dante in terms of both options and fun factor.

it was on the service for a year. They give you a head's up at the beginning of the month when things will be cycling out, but typically big games like DMC5 are either on a 3, 6, or 12 month contract, so you can kinda plan around it if you're not jumping into the game first thing.

As much as Capcom milks games it's a wonder we never got any DLC for DMC5. Maybe we'll get a special edition version?

DMC5 SE with playable Vergil, Trish and Lady would probably be the single greatest gift that the action genre ever received.
