I don't agree with Nevada being deep red. Cases and hospitalizations are going down showing that the mask mandate and bar closures are working.

assuming this is sarcasm (if not whoops): what i was suggesting is that i am moving from a state with a big government response to covid-19 (outdoor mask mandates, still no indoor dining) to a place in which you're probably about as likely to piss people off by wearing a mask as you would be if you didn't

This is a week late, but Im thinking about how more than half of the Miami Marlins caught Covid. They played 3 games against the Philadelphia Phillies, and not one player on the Phillies tested positive.

This should be a small case study of the virus not being easily as transmissible outdoors in hot weather like we originally thought. Thats good news. However, with fall right around the corner, I fear the health experts are correct in saying this is going to be a bad fall for a resurgence in places that have been doing well. (Thinking of northeastern states, especially New York).

Uhm. There is a recent autopsy study showing coronavirus can lurk in the inner ear and behind the mastoid bone. So ... maybe like ebola --- not verified just a maybe. *scared out of my mind*

If coronavirus does lurk in inner ear, this is even more reason to social distance, wear masks and have people work/study from home.

A good friend of mine down in the Portland area just got a positive test result back, which means her roommate (another friend) almost certainly has it too :/ In fact, I'd bet he was the one who got it first, not that he's been irresponsible or anything but just that she's been working from home and hasn't had any social life lately.

They've been sick for a few days, she was convinced hers was just allergies until her sense of taste faded away. Thankfully he says he's starting to feel better already, hoping it doesn't get any worse for her.

My brother n law got a scare this past week. He owns a power washing company in Portland and an employee had flu like symptoms last week. They do a lot of social distancing so my brother n law wasn't worried. My sister made him go take a test just to be safe. He got a negative result back while the employee tested positive. Luckily he only had mild symptoms.

My brother n law doesn't have any sense of taste or smell anyways due to a concussion he suffered a few years back.

My college is doing this dumb shit where classes are half online, half in person. The obvious issue there being that if you scheduled your classes close together you likely have to stay on campus for an online class anyway. And instead of being able to sit in a library or something for it you may have to sit in a tent outside.

They're literally putting tents up all over campus for this instead of just going online only.

old school is online only for now until they get a grasp of the current situation when the tourists don't show up as much until mid october then they will either go hybrid or stay online only depending on the corona cases in my county.
