And ended with 35. I feel like I want to upgrade my computer just so I can play the Definitive Edition. :)

I think my older brother was part of the beta for the original AoE 2. I remember something about that.

TIL that they actually have "building collapse" animations in the Definitive Edition. Man those look satisfying.

Age of Empires 2 was like a year of my life as a teenager. Id just spend hours building my army, then just annihilating the computer. I remember I tried the hardest difficulty, and got smashed within 30 mins.
Then I psyched myself up, and started a game against the hardest computer, and after like 7 hours and all resources on the map excavated, I beat those Persians. I stole so many Elephants from them. --- You look under puppy's message. You find a potion! ... Copied to Clipboard!

I never did get into the third game. Was it even any good?3 was okay, but a bit overcomplicated by requiring connection to the "home city" as a gameplay mechanic. I enjoyed it, but it obviously didn't take off like 2 did. --- CyricZ ... Copied to Clipboard!

Meh...? I liked AoE 2 back in the day but the whole "13 civs!" thing is way less cool than it sounds. They shared almost all of their units.
