What race should I play in Pathfinder 2E?

Gonna be an investigator, can't decide on a race though.

Both ratfolk and Elf seem interesting, either being a low to the ground bugger, or a quiet aloof person that sees everything with a glance of the area, you could pull off some interesting ideas reguardless.

Was already leaning ratfolk since they're not in DnD (that I've seen) and that's all I've played.

Plan on trying to use rats to get information/follow people. I have ratspeak, just need decent charisma.

Ooh yeah change my vote from cat to rat.

Ended up making a ratfolk.

Had a session 0 yesterday, made our characters and did a smidge just to get started.

... We nearly died on the first encounter to an Acid Wolf! Fun times.

We're not a very combat oriented party.

Well now your DM knows to lower the fight difficult and focus on out of combat stuff

Especially for Investigator since a lot of their kit is intended for out of combat use, and even their combat capabilities are significantly improved when they're Pursuing a Lead.

Hopefully! We have a druid, sorcerer, investigator, and some dragon class(?). Party composition be damned!

Yeah pretty much I was useless. Couldn't pursue a lead, and didn't have any time to make bombs or anything.

It was fun though! Always wanted to try more pen and paper rpgs outside of DnD.

I have a Discworld RPG that I'd like to play, just want to be a player in that one.

Hopefully the dragon class is something like a dragon instinct barbarian, since otherwise that party composition is a little lacking on muscle.

I can guarantee that's not what they are, unfortunately!

If things get too bad I have a champion as a backup character, could just talk to the DM about it, but will say it was kind of fun with none of us being great at the combat.

What did you choose as your methodology out of curiosity, that does define a lot of the class after all.

I mean, having a weird party though is rather fun, In pathfinder 1, I was in a party as Investigator, with a paladin, and rogue. The lack of actual magic was tricky to get around, I mean i had alchemy, but actual attacking spells were few and far between.

I went with alchemy, but the problem with that was I couldn't make bombs since they don't work with Quick Tincture (or at least, from what I read).

The adventure that we're doing starts us off in a wagon, so didn't have anything prepared.

Doesn't look like it, although I could see mutagens and random smokesticks and the like being handy as a start.
