Do you think 1 month is enough to determine if a vaccine is safe to administer to the world?

Dailymal has learned that 52 y/o Professor, Gary Straddiotto became one of the 30,000 volunteers helping to test the vaccine in the world's biggest COVID-19 study..and he says other than a "short-lived" PAIN in his arm from the shot, he said so far he has had no side effects since he got the shot LAST THURSDAY!!

The Political Science Teacher at the University of San Diego volunteered for the FINAL PHASE of the Moderna Study and received his first 100mg of the experimental mRNA-1273 vaccine last Thursday and is set to receive the last and final vaccine shot on August 26th

Moderna's vaccine is one of several promising candidates in the final stretch of the global vaccine race as UP tops more than 155,000 deaths and surpasses 4.6 million cases

He said he volunteered because he didn't see another way out of this pandemic other than a vaccine or treatment.

He was nervous at first as an EMT stood by incase of any emergencies but said after a short lived pain in his arm, he feels fine. Still, he's happy to go through with it and hasn't had any side effects yet

Moderna is working closely with Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority and the National Institute of Health as the projects is under Operation Warp Speed by the Trump Administration to accelerate development of a safe, effective COVID-19 vaccine and to deliver 300 million doses by January 2021

Stradiotto told Dailymail that staff at testing facility believe a new vaccine could be around the corner who said "The study is actually TWO YEARS LONG but i overheard them talking and they said that if the study goes as planned and they get good results in the next couple of months they are hoping to release this vaccine in February next year. And they said that if you got the placebo they would let you know so you can get the real thing"

The study is only asking those who HAVEN'T gotten COVID-19 yet and have not received any other vaccine or treatment and says it cannot cause infection or make someone sick with COVID-19

Dailymail also learned volunteers are given 90 bucks for their time as they are also asked to give regular check ups for any side effects and asked to complete diary entries

Moderna also promised not to sell its shot at a NON PROFIT COST as several other vaccines fom China and the UK are beginning their final testing

It normally takes YEARS to create a new vaccine from scratch but scientists are speeding through the process to race for the world's best hope against the pandemic

Do you think 1 month is enough to determine if a vaccine works?

Ug, theres really pain at the injection site? I had that with a pneumonia shot and it was hard to use that arm for a few days. Oh well, guess I would get the shot anyway when it comes out. I love my momma.

Man, its just pain at the injection site. I thought it was going to be something more serious like the injection caused his immune system to overreact and as such developed some autoimmune issue.

Dude, it's like half a week removed from the first shot in a series of shots that will go on for a month.
And he's one of 30,000 volunteers.

Way too early and too limited a "sample" to draw any conclusions just from what this one guy has said thus far.
