Or at least willing to admit it. I just dont get why anyone would be in favor of something that requires that much faith in the government and historically tends to lead to dictatorships when practiced. Like sure Trump sucks but hes hardly a dictator even if you think he wants to be. If he was Americans wouldnt be bad mouthing him.

Obama put immigrants in camps before Trump, and not all those peaceful protesters are actually peaceful. Not that all of that is excused. But as bad as that is Its hardly on par with what happens in communist countries like North Korea. We want things to improve not be worse.

Some people really need to put Karl Marx in the proper historical context. He was writing during a period of abject poverty and extreme inequality brought about by the aftermath of the industrial revolution. The so-called proletariat in those days were slaves in all but name.

Life in this day and age has absolutely nothing to do with what the world was like in Marx's days.

I dont think that's particularly realistic to expect.

More into it than what we have now. Anything we try will always have giant douchebags taking advantage of it. We need a system that makes that harder to do, not easier. I'm not saying Communism is that, because I don't know a lot about it. I made a topic about it like a month ago but people really weren't helping me understand what it was. They were just speaking from emotion and fighting each other mostly. I never really got a solid answer on what it was suppose to be. It's possible someone linked me to an article and I forgot to read it or something. I don't want to put it all on you guys >_>.

So when you say that it comes off as "Fuck your problems, Im comfortable". I'm not accusing you of anything, just giving my perspective.

I've seen the "it goes against human nature" argument against communism (to which I assume you are referring) hundreds of times, and it never gets any less stupid. capitalism encourages people to be greedy, to exploit others. it stands to reason that more people will be greedy and exploitative than they would otherwise. it's important to remove that incentive during the transition between capitalism and communism. part of this is making sure that everyone has their basic needs met: if it's not necessary to compete against others for survival, those attitudes fall away pretty quickly

That last part, That's really naive of you to think, like really REALLY naive. People dont work that way. Give everybody exactly what they need you're still gonna have people unsatisfied and wanting more. You're still gonna have greedy people wanting more than they need and looking for ways to exploit the system and other people. You're still gonna have people looking for an excuse to cause harm.

Humans displayed traits such as competitiveness and greed long before capitalism ever existed. It doeasnt matter if their basic needs are met. Humans arent ants who are contempt with what they have until the day they die. They will ALWAYS desire more for the sake of it. If only to outdo their neighbor.

Again I think America has problems and that includes its treatment of minorities. I'm not saying screw minorities and there problems I just think it's important to understand it's not just America is racist. Racism is global and many places are much worse than America. Not saying to just deal with it but it does feel like some people think America is the most racist and vile country on earth. I'm not sure how many legitimately think that, but that's what it feels like and I think that makes the issues harder to deal with.
