Poll of the Day > In order to defeat the coronavirus we need to start having safety camps.

People are dying everyday because of our administration has been so inept with the handling of this virus. The devastating long term health effects that are going to impact tens if not hundreds of millions of Americans can no longer be ignored. We need to take action and get this virus under control. The best way to do that is to establish safety camps in order to contain this outbreak. Safety camps will allow us to establish a safety bubble for individuals so they can be tested regularly and given vaccines and treatment to finally end this. We could start with rounding up all the nonessential workers/people, so they can be quarantined and kept safe. Obviously we would need guards to ensure no unauthorized individuals enter or leave the safety bubble, but this way people will be safe and we could finally get ahold of this pandemic. This needs to happen and hopefully come November we can get some competent leadership that will take this type of action in order to ensure the safety and health of everyone.

This is no joke. There needs to be a final solution to end this virus. We can not just rely on a vaccine to save us but need to take drastic containment efforts in order to stop the spread once and for all.

I would assume so yes. Everyone in the safety camps can be working to help with the maintenance and upkeep of the safety camp as well as possibly assist in the manufacturing of vaccines.

We are at war with the coronavirus and its a war we are losing. How many millions dead do we have to wait to take action? Also with how people who are infected with the virus now have permanent long term health consequences, I dont see how anyone could disagree that drastic measures need to be taken. No. This has nothing to do with race and Im having a hard time figuring out how you even began to think it was. Nonessential workers are of all different backgrounds and it would make the most logistical sense to start with them to ensure their safety.

If you start trying to lock people up and take them hostage, youre going to have people fighting people. Forcing people into jail (because no matter how you pretty up this camp, its still jail) wont help at all. Itll only make things worse. Once you out everyone into safety camps, weve already lost. And everyone will die. Probably fighting to get out. Not to mention, there wont be any standards for what or who is essential...

So, again, do you want a war? Because thats how you get a war...

Also, that would mess a lot of things up. And potentially cause people to lose their houses and all property. People wont like that. You can go to one of your safety camps, though. But the rest of the world probably pass...

I'm more partial to making a camp jubilee of sorts for the hard deniers, and let them do their thing away from everyone else for a whole month. During that month, make whatever strides we can to treat and lay low the infection. Send what supplies we can spare to the camp for deniers, and then, when the month is over, use necessary precautions to bring those deniers home without making anyone sick.

Yall need to practice a technique called soft breathing. How it works is you let air float in and out of your lungs without actually contracting them. This shortens the distance where you would project mucus vapors and gives you some other social norm to put people on blast and bitch about.

Huh? what simple piece of protocol? Read the research. Masks (real, fitted, filter masks; not cutesy cloth nose scarves) are at best, 3% effective. In March, CDC and WHO were recommending against masks for the general public. Now, for lack of anything more effective, masks are a political token. Social distance, maybe, but does little for airborne infection. Isolation? Sure, but you still need to buy food, maintain an income, take care of business.

Sure, I wear a cute patterned nose scarf as a social gesture, maintain 6' distance, but I don't fool myself that it's actually meaningful. I stay away from crowds, and limit my shopping and social interaction, that's somewhat realistic.
