I already got the following: Ni No Kuni II, The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy XV, Final Fantasy Type-0, Kingdom Hearts III, NieR Automata, The Last Guardian, Metal Gear Solid V, Death Stranding, Uncharted 4, God of War, Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 7, and Resident Evil Revelations.

And I've already got the following on my list to get eventually: Days Gone, Red Dead Redemption 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Persona 5 Royal, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and The Last of Us Part II.

So you kinda got an idea of my taste. But I've been out of the loop on PS4 games for this whole generation, so I definitely need more recommendations on what I've missed so I can catch up!

Ghost of Tsushima. I know it's on your list, but make it the first you get from your list

Monster Hunter World, MHW: Iceborne, Until Dawn, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, all the Borderlands

Oh! I've got Until Dawn on my list too. My friend just told me about that one today and it sounds really interesting. I'll definitely add the South Park game too. And I've had my eye on The Witcher, but I want to play the whole series. Can I play III and understand the story without having played the others? I mean, I imagine so or it wouldn't be so popular...

I'll probably get Borderlands too, my friend really wants to play that online with me. I've never heard of MHW: Iceborne and have never played a Monster Hunter game, so you'll have to sell me on those two.

Horizon Zero Dawn is on my list! I forgot to list that one.
I couldn't get into the first inFamous game when I played it. If I wasn't into that one would you still recommend this one?
My friend was just telling me about Prey! He compared it to BioShock which is one of my favorite series. I'll add it to the list!

Different powers and play feel. I enjoyed the first inFamous but not the second, really enjoyed this one.

Hope you enjoy it then. Very good game.

You can get Spider-Man on PS4 with all the DLC for about $25 or so. It's easily one of the best games on PS4 and the DLC actually is worth it.

Spider-Man has been added to this list!

Metalsonic66
Lumines Remastered
Rayman Legends
Gravity Rush
Spider-Man
Horizon
Monster Hunter

I've added two of those games, but what are Lumines and Gravity Rush? Not sure if I've heard of those. Might eventually get to Rayman, but it's not a top priority for me. Someone still needs to sell me on Monster Hunter lol

The Trails series is definitely something I have my eye on, but per recommendations from my JRPG groups, I plan on playing the Sky trilogy, then the two bridging games, then Cold Steel! I've got the first two Sky games for Vita.

I am fairly creative. I've made music and movies (and went to film school lol), and I write quite a lot. I'll definitely look into this one!

what are Lumines and Gravity Rush?
Lumines is a puzzle game similar to Tetris but you connect squares of color instead of lines of blocks. And there's a big emphasis on music (same guy who made Rez)
Gravity Rush is a semi open-world action/adventure game where you have gravity powers and fly around and shit.

Monster Hunter is not for everyone. It's a pretty big time sink and the combat can take some getting used to, if you're more familiar with faster paced action games.

The series has a ton of depth to it, though, and the progression is very rewarding. I had almost 600 hours in MH4U and over 150 hours on MHW before the expansion came out.

Cool, I like puzzle games, I'll definitely add Lumines to the list! And I'll look into Gravity Rush, that sounds like a game I could be into.

I love JRPGs, and I don't mind a huge time sink, but my primary motivation for JRPGs is story. How would you say the story for Monster Hunter is? I don't hear it talked about much when people talk about the game.

I doubt it.
I don't think a single person on here has played the Trails series besides me. It's very hard to get into, but it's the best series ever made.

You doubt that I'll play it? I mean, I've already got the first two games and I'd rank them as "high priority" in terms of games I want to play. They're highly praised in the JRPG groups I'm in for their world-building and stories, which is the main reason I play JRPGs, plus I really like the aesthetics. It might take me a few years to get through a series of 9 long games, especially since I'll be playing other games too, but I'll eventually play them all! Unless like I really hate the Sky trilogy, but I can't imagine that based on what I've heard and the particular people who have recommend it to me.

There is a story in the Monster Hunter games, but it is not the main emphasis of the game. More of a means to introduce bigger and stronger monsters to hunt.

Definitely not a traditional RPG. Nearly all the progression and character advancement is tied to equipment that you forge with monster parts

The Gravity Rush games are fun, though when you get around to the second, you will find some items are locked out and no longer accessible. The game had some asynchronous online features like racing time trials and treasure hunts. You could get Dusty Tokens through doing this stuff, to access some items that can't be accessed in any other manner. Treasure chests still exist in the game for the items that are only available that way, but without the online clues that would give you an idea of where to look, you would need to check every possible spawn zone every 12 hours in hopes of finding any.

So these are just gone
https://gravityrush.fandom.com/wiki/Dusty_Tokens#Rewards

This should help you discover chests
https://www.reddit.com/r/gravityrush/comments/9pdqgn/need_a_guide_on_offline_treasure_chests_for/

If you can ignore that, it is still a great game. I'd recommend both of them.

Gravity Rush is amazingly fun; it's an action game where you have complete control of gravity. You can walk on walls/ceilings, fly, and lots of other effects. The camera can be controlled with either the right stick or motion controls; the latter can take some getting used to but it can be very intuitive.
