I bought it on a whim because I thought the art style and general aesthetic was cool, even though turn based games generally aren't my thing and so far I've done one confusing combat encounter I don't know if I did right and some QTEs that I don't know if I did right. Does it get better soon?

I understand the feeling sometimes though, I suckered myself and got Mario Odyssey even though I didn't really enjoy the other 3D Mario games just because everyone and their mother was hyping the game to be the greatest thing ever. And I was thinking the whole time "what did they change about the game that makes it so much better than the other ones?*

OP, you wont really get a feel of the game until the first dungeon opens up, which is also when the life sim stuff opens up. You have a few hours till you get there though, lol

Well I put 8 hours in and I honestly wish the slice of life shit would just fuck off for good. This game would be so much better and less tedious and boring if the dream sequences were the entire game

I haven't played Royal, but I played about 80 hours of the original.

I was hoping that something would click, but it didn't, and I dropped the game at the boss fight of the fifth palace.

You do realize that you're playing a Persona game right? More than half the game is the social stuff.

5 was my least favorite, still enjoyed it mind you. 4 is still my fav, 3 close after, though maybe tied with 5

the slice of life stuff is what makes a Persona game. Youre not gonna like it, its over half of the experience. You spend way more time with the life sim stuff than you do in dungeons.

I'd say maybe try a mainline SMT game instead, but if you don't like turn based RPGs that's probably a no go.

I'd suggest Raidou Kuzonoha.
Not turn based, interesting story, same company, similar but less slice of life time management.
