Pre covid: $5895/mo
Current covid: $4895/mo

$1000 saved a month... and that's a bargain price according to that renter.

Also average rent in SF is $3200 for 1 bedroom.... this is normal in cities of California.

Anytime I see shit on the ground when I pass by Dolores park, I always wonder whether its human or dog shit because theres plenty of both in that area.

Yeah I'll stick with buying a 4BR/3BA right on a lake for 250k in the midwest at the expense of having slightly fewer restaurants to choose from

I visited San Diego and we thought it was great. I imagine our house we paid 300k paid for in Nevada would probably be worth over a million there lol. The tiniest house 2br house ever was close to 800k

would be nice to temp live there for a year

And lower prices is what happens when the employees of those jobs pack up and leave. Then landlords will have no choice but to lower rent becuase the people even if they absolutely needed living there cant afford it.

It's almost as if letting the free market completely decide rental pricing isn't a good idea.

I enjoy the space my yard gives me from the other properties but wholly shit it gets annoying working all week on my feet then having to come home and mow on the weekend. And it really is every week, I live in Florida where it's raining daily so the grass grows back weekly.

Edge a good angle to the dirt then get real close to the dirt and saturate it with round up. Do this once a month and no more weed earring

Location largely decides that. We literally have people posting here about the rent being much lower in other parts of the country. Thats not even including government assistance for lower income housing. Saying housing should be affordable to all sounds nice, but can mean a wide range of things to different people.

"Big" midwestern cities are great though. In Omaha there's tons of amazing restaurants, a great music scene, and generally tons of shit to do without having to share a 1 bedroom apartment with 6 people.

People are missing that SF is a tech hub where most engineers there are making at least $300k a year. Obviously not worth living there unless youre in the tech industry.

Also SF is vastly different to the rest of California in terms of cost of living.
