Snipers, printed in such low numbers that this site used to claim it was cancelled. :P
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps3/632817-snipers

Being that it is an online only game, that rarity works against it, but hey, it doesn't need to be good rare. >:D

And along with that, NRL Mascot Mania, which is currently in the post. An Australian rugby game where you play as team mascots in a platformer. Possibly even more rare than Snipers, given it released in maybe two countries.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ds/960309-nrl-mascot-mania

Also, almost forgot Singstar Bollywood for PS2, but that is well, just humming along to music I don't understand.

Hard to say, because at no point in my life have I ever really cared about game rarity to ever look into how rare any given game was in the first place. I'm definitely not the sort of person who deliberately tracks down rare or collectible games after-the-fact solely because they ARE rare.

My first instinct was a game like Echo Night or Koudelka, though I know Suikoden and Suikoden II were notoriously hard to track down via eBay or used game sales because of low print-runs in the US (and because no one who owned them ever wanted to sell them).

Galleon for the Xbox might also be a possibility.

I could also theoretically throw games like Still Life or Syberia into the mix, because while those games were probably more popular on PC, the console versions (which is what I own) are probably much rarer.

I might have other games that are rarer, though part of why games are rare is because they're so mediocre no one bought or cared about them, and any games that fit that criteria tend to be completely unmemorable. So it might be a game I've actually completely forgotten owning in the first place.

Maybe the big box version of Super Metroid though I'm not sure if it's actually rare.
I dunno, I don't know if I have a truly rare game.

I was thinking about buying Cooking Mama Cookstar for Switch for lulz(I don't even play those games lol) because of the fact that it was pulled from the eshop and seemingly unlikely to return any time soon.

Probably the DS version of Electroplankton on cartridge. It's not really a game, but more of a musical toy. The Hanenbow stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Ultimate was based on one of the "instruments" in Electroplankton (the second one in the video below).

I have a few of them that grew in value over time.

Probably my favourite example was a game called Go! Go! Hypergrind! For the GameCube. It was an Atlus skateboarding title made in collaboration with the studio that made Ren and Stimpy. I bought it in 2014 for about $40 US. I looked on EBay recently and Im glad I got it when I did.

Another few I would say are Klonoa and Revelations: Persona for the PS1. I also have both Devil Summoner games for PS2 as well as MvC2 for PS2.

I'm reminded now that I also have two copies of the DS Lite Browser, which required so much memory that you have to insert a special 8MB Memory Expansion Pak into the GBA slot in addition to the regular DS cartridge. It's incompatible with the DSi and 3DS because of this, and no other licensed software could make use of the expansion pack. It's also the Lite version, which has a shorter expansion pak that won't fit into an original model DS. The browser was based on Opera 8.5

I also have My DoItAll for the DS. It was basically an attempt to turn the DS into a PDA for students, with an address book, calendar, notepad, calculator, world map, periodic table, and a bunch of small toys and games. I wrote the only review for it on GFaqs.

And I have the Rumble Pak for the DS Lite. This fit into the GBA slot, so it's totally incompatible with the DSi and 3DS. It's the Lite version, which is shorter than a standard GBA cartridge, so it won't work in an original model DS either. It was never terribly popular because it only worked with about 33 games, and a lot of these were Japanese issue only.

Probably Valkyrie Profile. Though I procured it through less than honorable means. My local library at the time had a video game section and happened to have Valkyrie Profile, so I checked it out and just never returned it. The fee for the "lost" game was significantly less than its going price. I think I paid less than $10 for "losing" it.

Probably nothing I own is actually rare to any degree.

If I had kept them, either FF6 for the SNES or FF7-9 for the PS1, however rare hugely popular titles that have been opened are. Probably not that rare. None were greatest hits though, I doubt that means much.

Not sure why it would be higher now that you can at least play it digitally. I'm positive it was averaging $700 for a used copy in good condition years ago...

Checking amazon now, I see a new collectible version for $700; "used - good" for $220, $400, and $514; and "used - like new" for $750. All the used - acceptable are around $220, except for one that's $2000 for disc only (lol?)

My point was...before it was released on PSN...

The super rare discs were the only legal way to play Suikoden II.

There's the collector aspect and then there's the fact that it's one of the best games of all time and as people found out about it...had only that one avenue to to get it.

Still suikoden II was never 700 used. And I still stand by it's current aftermarket value being it's all time high right now.

And I bet the release of Eiyuden Chronicle will bump it's value even higher.
