A couple hours ago, one of my coworkers found out that a close contact of hers has been exposed to three people that have tested positive. Because my coworkers are mostly irresponsible and because my work doesn't really give a shit, I feel like this doesn't bode well for me. Which is frustrating as fuck, because I try so hard to be careful, and be as safe as I can be both at work and in my personal life, and I'm probably going to end up getting it and giving it to my loved ones anyway, just because I'm surrounded by fucking idiots.

That colored map doesn't tell the whole story of each state. As someone who lives in Nevada the spread is pretty much colnfined to Las Vegas. Even Reno now is currently on a downward trend, and the rural outlying counties have never been hit hard in the first place. If they are seeing an increase, it's like an increase of 5 weekly cases to 8 to ten cases.

man i was a week away from booking an april trip to vegas back in february. was that close to pulling the trigger before everything started to shut down. was gearing up to go again moderately recently but there's just no point in going without shows and bars being open. plus my credits on myvegas would be wasted on disappointing rewards because all the good ones are temporarily gone (i.e. restaurant credits to closed restaurants, spa credits, etc.)

Wifes birthday was this past weekend and we did takeout from her favorite restaurant.

We were also planning on going to Disneyland in early 2021 but I have a feeling it's going to get pushed back to 2022.

My state keeps bouncing back and forth from caution to trending poorly.

Not sure how that map derives it's data. New cases and hospitalizations are both decreasing in Arizona yet the state is still marked as uncontrolled spread.

I have to agree with that and within Las Vegas, it's hitting the northern and eastern sides the worst. It seems like its hitting the lower income areas the worst. I live on the west side in Summerlin and it hasn't hit too badly,

How the map derives its data (my guess) It is the math

The map logic does a weighted average by population. The state either just averages them all together or weights it by county.

Not sure if this is the case in all states, but I know the courts in Delaware are spreading out the jury in the gallery instead of the jury box, requiring masks, and doing a temperature check at the metal detector upon checkin.

The director and other employees at my work have received death threats because we refuse entry to anyone entering our building (it's a county building) without a mask. Have health issues and cannot wear one? We won't make you but you can't come in. Lunatic calls and leaves messages to employees about how we're anti-trump and sheep and we're going to catch a bullet after work or at our homes. Luckily, because it's a county building, we have numerous deputies in the plaza.

Fun part is that I had to work the lobby entrance this week at various times. I only had one person that tried to enter without a mask. I explained the policy and offered a free one if he needed it. He said he could put up with for the short time he was in the building so he took it, wore it, did his business and then left.
