This was literally the argument a guest used to try and get access to the hotel pool. It's been closed since the start, and it's still closed. But she wanted to use it, I apologized and explained why it's still closed and she snapped at me that they were just in Myrtle Beach and everything was open. That the state they live in is completely open too.

I apologized again, but she was insisting that we're just being stubborn over this. Then she picked up her toddler, told me "You only live once!" Then started doing a dance and singing "Corona, here we come" to her child.

Seriously, from what I hear Myrtle Beach is getting hit with lots of cases right now. If you want to risk it, that's fine, but I don't think you should be dragging your toddler through it with you. Especially not if you're just going to joke about catching it and argue about safety measures we're keeping in place to protect them.

Its usually ok. I deal with so many stupid issues every day, this one just hit me wrong. I don't think I have the patience to deal with much more tonight.

Shouldn't pools be pretty safe with all of those chemicals?

And lol @ letting people stand shoulder-to-shoulder, often maskless, at protests while not allowing people into a big ass pool. Government at is finest!

It irks me when braindead idiots argue with employees who are just doing their job. Most places don't want to close but it's how it is right now because of a pandemic. This idiot is a terrible role-model to her kid too.

I think it's more about not encouraging large groups to gather.

I think pools have been given the green light to open over here. The rules?
These include:
  • No overtaking while swimming;
  • Double-width lanes;
  • Rest areas outside the pool to avoid gatherings between lengths;
  • An option to arrive already changed into swimwear;
  • Two-metre social distancing throughout changing areas;
  • No more than one swimmer per six square metres of a pool;
  • Pools divided for family sessions so that each household has their own area.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; if these past four years have taught me anything, it's that some people don't deserve the right to vote.

Probably. But this ones a smaller indoor pool. Based on how often I get asked about it, it'd be very crowded in there. The fitness center and breakfast bar are closed too to avoid crowds.

Seriously. Also, my 2 annoying coworkers are currently vacationing in Naples Florida, on the beaches. At least last I heard. Both have pretty severe health issues, and are immunocompromised. But they just had to have a vacation right now. Also, they both refuse to wear masks because it makes them uncomfortable.

Tbh, I think they're ingenious. I'd wager they'll self quarantine for 2 weeks after, then one will feel I'll, and get another 2 weeks. Basically turning a 1 week vacation into 5. These guys are very sneaky when it comes to stuff like that...
Or they're just gambling with everyone's health and they'll be touching everything here without cleaning.

The pools themselves, sure. The air people are breathing above them, not so much.

Wait, what if people injected themselves with the same chemicals from the pool?

That would definitely make them corona-proof!

Their blood, yes. Their respiratory system, not so much. You'd have to also fill your lungs and upper respiratory tract with the chemicals in order to be really safe.

Hey calm down, adjl, I was just putting some ideas out there. I wasn't saying people should actually do it and I'm sure that people didn't interpret it like that just because I'm the leader of this country.

You can't catch coronavirus if you're dead.

Oh, I feel you. I'm just saying the idea wasn't quite complete without also drowning in chlorine instead of just mainlining it.
