The guy on parole actually stops and gives the dude CPR and calls 911, and keeps going until the ambulance arrives. My dad arrives and is required to arrest him, but through some legal mumbo jumbo basically lets the guy off the hook after the cashier gets to the hospital and begs for the guy to be let go. He is exactly where he chose to be.
