Not sure if this is contextual... but climate is a big deal for me and Seattle is Pacific Northwest and Denver is high altitude. They both sound like places that would be good for me, so I guess it would come down to cost of living.

I've lived in the Denver metro area most of my life and I like it. Great climate from my perspective. Denver is very dry compared to Seattle or most places in general which is good if you hate humidity but not so good if you like seeing lots of natural green spaces.

both have great access to hiking but i would prefer to live at elevation for the attendant health gains at this stage in my life. actually moving to boise in the fall though
