The whole world can't ignore American politics, for better or for worse. America has massive influence over the world economy and political landscape.

Personally, I try to keep up with politics in other countries as well. It's good to stay informed (as long as you have reliable and trustworthy information).

The people who say this (like Bullet_Wing) show how little they understand about the world if they think what's happening in America doesn't have an effect on other countries.

I picture them at home in front of their computers going "What the fuck is the globalization thing all about I just sit here slopping my hogs in my town of 500 people and that's dang diddly good enough for me!"

I'm fairly certain their only interest in it is generally to stroke their own egos but it's not like it's hurting anyone.

watching america from outside is like being trapped in a house with a toddler and transparent glass separating you from each other. you can mind your own business but you wanna engage with the toddler to keep him from burning down the house and taking you down with it.

The US controls the fiat. The fiat controls all the money in the modern world. Makes sense they'd care about it to me.

If we tank, a lot of economic issues will ensue across the globe. Better to stay on top of it.

This

It's like trying to ignore China

You can't do it without just intentionally switching off from the world.

This ignores a lot of context. Are there ridiculous Trump supporters in other countries? Yes. I know Canadians who think the US is the only thing stopping Canada from being overrun by brown people. But some countries are also more accepting of his brand because of politics.
I have friends and extended family in Israel who are 110% behind Trump and every shitty decision he makes. These are the types of people who don't care that an innocent Palestinian kid gets shot because he was either throwing rocks or would grow up to hate Jews anyway. Some countries are more receptive to that message.
