The woman was roadraging and trying to drive around police cars blocking a crowd of marching protestors. Twice, then she blew a red light and confronted the officers.

It seems reasonable to need to immediately verify she wasnt armed at least. Particularly with how vehicles have been used against crowds of protestors.

Any kind of body search, or just a more intimate body search? Online, it appears same sex officers are only needed if the request to strip is any more than removing gloves or a jacket.

Their isn't a law against it but they will have a female officer search a female suspect if one is available.

It's really amusing that you're doing this "the US seems years behind the UK" thing when you apparently don't even know the rules that you're talking about, because a male police officer in the UK absolutely could have done this search to her without having to get her a female officer. You're just spouting completely false information.

You should read all the posts because you would know that I mentioned it's not law but in general if they can they will get a female officer so they can avoid this situation. @Tenlaar

idk, I have to agree with darkprince on this one. he's clearly using the back of his hand, and he's reaching from behind her so he can't tell when to stop moving his hand until he actually touches her breast, and he has to touch it to see if anything is there. and it's for like less than half a second.

waiting for a female officer is impractical. what if none are working? you gotta call a female officer in just to grope a female suspect? what if all the lady cops are lesbians?

It's a shitty situation. She's being arrested for gross traffic violation so he has to search her, he does it in public in front of his dash cam with bystanders filming, so either he truly gets off on this or he's a cop that follows policy, his life would so much easier if he just padded her sides down and took her in.

We all know people are very patient creatures as well. I'm sure she would have waited patiently and not said one word as she sat there in the Texas sun, waiting for a female officer to arrive.

It's not like the potential for her demeanor to nosedive the longer she waits is a factor. I'm sure you all would be extremely patient as well, sitting there in handcuffs for who knows how long.
