I feel so bad for these kids they are showing incredibly maturity and responsibility unlike a certain republican political party. These kids basically sacrificed their summer vacation and did the right thing by socially isolating themselves they didn't hang out with their friends or go to prom they stayed home and quarantined themselves not because they wanted to but because they know it is the right thing to do such an amazing generation the boomers could learn a thing or two.

It makes me sick I haven't seen a single school aged kid out when I go grocery shopping yet I am certain to see a boomer just leisurely strolling around with no mask on and they wonder why covid cases on are the rise amongst boomers. Almost everyone I see except for boomers wears a mask I have yet to see a boomer actually wear one.

For the people who are speaking about kids not having the interview. People have been fighting for years to the close the digital divide. But there were too much money to be made, our web is so much slower then other places. And you know this would be a great time to fix it... but in place we are literally sending children and teachers to their deaths.

well first off, kids are less susceptible to the virus so your whole argument is based on an unlikely outcome. Kids dying? Not a reality based on what scientists have already said.

second off, your proposal is not gonna happen. We arent gonna shut down everything indefinitely. If you presented an actual strategy thats one thing, but youve presented something that is honestly not gonna happen.

Kids are less susceptible, but they are still susceptible.
A quick Google search says there are about 55 million elementary and secondary level students in the US. Even with a super low infection rate of say, 2%...thats still over a million sick kids. Now say a super low percentage of those kids die from the virus, maybe 1% or even 0.5%, that's still around 6000 dead kids. And that's not to mention the family members and friends they will spread it to.
That's ok to you? Cuz it's not ok to me. For what? To get kids back in school asap?..nah we need a better plan. I'm not exactly sure what that plan is, but it's gotta be better than 6000 dead kids.
