You said you knew before you played this game. I've generally had the most fun playing the post-DS games on Hard Casual. Feels reasonably balanced most of the time (especially since I spend most fights farming Support conversations, which adds to the difficulty level...).

Hard/classic with the turnwheel felt like a good balance to me. Which battle is giving you trouble?

It's kind of hard to actually lose someone in Echoes considering how forgiving Mila's Turnwheel makes things.

i just kind of gave up caring enough to do it and now I'm just gonna power through battles and probably end up gimping myself at the end of the game but WHATEVER

Hard/Classic: Hm, I really need this enemy dead. Unit A can do half his health, and then Unit B can finish him off, but Unit A will die in the process. Guess I'd better figure out a different strategy.

Because Fire Emblem difficulty is actually balanced around not wanting to lose many units

Hard Casual is MUCH easier than Hard Classic because Hard Casual enables a lot of degenerate strategies that would hose you in a normal run

Does SoV let you downgrade to Casual in the middle of a run? I know Fates lets you but Three Houses does not.

Hard/Classic with rewinds is pretty much the perfect Fire Emblem experience. All of the strategy and none of the lame bullshit.

As others have pointed out, on Hard/Casual you can just suicide units to brute force maps, thus removing any semblance of actual strategy.

It really depends how you play the game. I still try not to lose people playing on casual (though I do accept some losses in some fights, it didn't happen much in Echoes or Houses because of rewinds).

Also he already said he doesn't like Hard Classic so I don't get what you're arguing by calling it perfect.

yeah this is basically it

i'll play so i don't lose units but it saves the frustration of some particularly annoying fights
