He was an electrical engineer from New York and lived part time in Florida where he died at Delray Medical Centre after catching the disease and was among the 138 people who died at Palm Beach County The photo snapped by an Associated Press photographer was published in newspapers and magazines around the world and is featured in the 9/11 Memorial Museum He was 60 at the time of the photo as he was seen running with a manilla envelope under his arm alongside other men when the South Tower came down Janet Rashes, his partner said "He didn't even know the photograph was taken. All of a sudden he's looking in Time magazine one day and he sees himself and says, oh my god that's me. He was amazed. Couldn't believe it" Cooper was delivering documents near the WTC on the morning of 9/11 as he didn't know what was going on His 27 y/o daughter, Jessica says every year he would always look in a magazine to see his image there. Jessica was adopted from Guatemala in 1993 and remembers her father always bringing that photo to get togethers as he was so proud of it he shared multiple copies of time to hand them out like a calling card Suzanne Plunkett was the woman who took the photo and never had a chance to meet Stephen as she said it was a shame she was never aware of his identity.
