It's good, but I remembered it as being essentially equal to FFVII when I first played it. It's not. But it is very unique and stylish.

The Ultimate Wargod? There really was no better accessory in the game unless you were really good at doing additions. The extra damage output you get from never screwing up your additions easily outweighed whatever benefit you got from the other accessories.

For the better, most playstation era voice acting was really bad. With one notable exception.

Fun game, could use a Remake and a dialog touch up. Has a lot of interesting ideas in it with mixed to excellent execution. Would recommend.

So, take out the whole part of the battle system that's challenging and entertaining? I'm good. You might as well just play any other turn based RPG, because you're taking away what made LoD unique >_>. I think it's the only reason I made it so far while being way pass my turn based RPG prime.

I've played through it a couple of times, but got bored before i could finish it.

It's a bit clunky and the script is really awful at times, but story and it's character building are pretty great. I'd recommend it to anyone with more patience than me.

As someone who didnt play it until like 2014-15, it doesn't hold up compared to other jrpgs at the time at all. It's got a really colorful neat looking presentation that I think most people remember it for but the combat is dire and focused around little qte things that are super repetitive while simultaneously not as ignorable as the traditional "just press attack" style of the time. The plot is also very badly, childishly written but I wonder how much of that was just a bad translation and how much was the original. Characters aren't interesting and their dialogue reads like a kid's fantasy novel
