How much can you bench press?










Welcome to another fitness poll! First was pull ups, then pushups, now the bench press. I tried to make the options in a manner that reflects proportionate strength as opposed to raw numbers, so sorry if they are worded confusingly. This was designed to be answered what you can do 1 rep at

i was able to do around 150-60 over my bw before

since the pandemic has started i've done 0 bench pressing so i imagine i'll struggle with 2 plates whenever i'm back, possibly in several more months...

yet all azuarc of all sorts are more or less capricious and unreliable - they live in the varying outer weather, and they inhale its fickleness

Bench is a weird one for me. By all rights i should be able to bench more than i do. But i plateau so easily on it and then it kills my motivation to increase it. I also tend to gravitate to overhead press more as the main upper body lift (which i plateau on even more lol) as i like the exercise more and i would rather have slightly bigger shoulders than a slightly bigger chest. I was able to put up super good numbers on bench a few years ago but now i doubt ill ever come close to 3 plates again

Since I haven't done it since March, I'd say more than 50 less than my body weight. Normally it's about 20 less than my body weight.

I weigh 185 and MIGHT be able to push two plates up these days, so 26-50+. At my strongest, it was probably around 75 lbs over body weight.

I never work out my arms and abs, and I've never even tried a bench press. I'm sure I could at least do more than the bar, though!
