WafflehouseJK 07/05/20 3:07:45 AM #1:	So I've dabbled here and there with some metal; but I've always been super confused on all the different sub-categories, and when I ask friends for recommendations I don't really have a basis for what exactly I like, so they just give me their own favorites and it's often super hit or miss. Some metal and metal-ish bands I know I like for reference: Rammstein System of a Down Metallica Sonata Arctica Korn Pantera Tool Soundgarden Alice In Chains Other bands that I've heard bits of and liked, but don't know a ton about/only know a couple of their songs I like: Slipknot Disturbed Ghost Iron Maiden Amon Amarth Mudvayne Help me CE, I don't know much, but I wanna know more. --- "She was like, 'Oh, did you see that firefighter? Intro to punk that isn't real heavy NOFX - White Trash Two Heebs and a Bean Bad Religion - All Ages or Stranger Than Fiction Face to Face - Big Choice More indy/hardcore than punk At The Drive In - Relationship of Command Snapcase - Progression Through Unlearning These are among my favorite albums, ever in any genre, and highly suggest for someone looking to get into a new band. If you like either Bad Religion or NOFX album, they both have literally a dozen others, and have been around for so long. Give the vocalist of NOFX a fair chance, he can be a bit off putting at first. If you really listen to it, they had this figured out 20 years before it happened, it's powerful and brilliant. The lead vocalist just got his 2nd PhD and is a professor at Cornell University.
