The Government consists of the Socialdemocrats and the Green party since October 2014. They had a budget partnership with the Far-left 2014-2018 and now with the Liberals and Neoliberals since January 2019.

The Socialdemocrats and the Conservatives are in agreement to make the temporary immigration and asylum laws permanent (they were instated during the migration crisis of 2015). This has made the Greens throw a fit and declare to the media that they ponder leaving the Government which would mean it gets dissolved and Riksdagen must either elect a new one based on the current seat distribution or there can be an extra national election.

Some of the laws which seem to be on their way to become permanent include temporary residency permits being the norm, with tough language and economical requirements for permanent permits and citizenship. Immigrants and asylum seekers who get denied to stay in Sweden will get an electronic ankle bracelet until the deportation is carried out and it will be possible to store the person in designated places.

If you are denied to be in Sweden and dont get out ASAP yourself then measures must be possible to put in.

Actually, the complete opposite has happened so far. All 8 parties stood behind the strategy until the past couple weeks as well.

Measures, sure. But "storing" the person sounds hella ominous and not sure I'd trust ANY government with such things.

I honestly dont know but activists have critizised the asylum holding facilities for holding a much lower comfort standard than our prisons.

And prisons dont have wifi for the inmates

We agree with each other there. And if MP wanna keep throwing hissy fits whenever they dont get their way, good riddance.

There is a Committee on Immigration right now (S and M both wanted it) where all 8 parties work on Swedens future immigration policies and a majority want the temporary laws to be voted into permanent law. C has gone from opposing it to following the stream. MP and V still object.

4.5 months. The previous record was like 25 days. The election in September 2018 created a very fractured Riksdag where no single party nor any of the traditional coalitions were close to the 175 seats needed for majority.

The former Green party leader Gustav Fridolin has written an article where he attacks both the SocDem leader and the Conservative leader saying they are carrying out SD-politics (SD = Sverigedemokraterna, our far-right party).

Sossarna have always been like that.
I remember when NyD was a new party, and Sossarna cried about their immigration politics being too racistic.
Sossarna won and had a harder immigration politic on every point except for one point, NyD wanted an ID card on every emigrant on an EU level or something like that. And nobody cared to point out what Sossarna did.

That is true. Sossarna have been really hard on immigration except 2007-2015 and that was because the left-wing of the party was more in control for once.

I see no issue with making everyone in a country have a common tongue, but it has to include a written component. I'll even give you a simple and reasonable reason: Street signs. Yes, most of Europe uses shapes and pictograms, but in the US (and at least China) we have message boards over highways, usually they're for simple shit like "Don't drink and drive" and "buckle up". But they're also used for things like important traffic alerts, or severe weather warning. Having those in multiple languages slows down information transfer, and in some cases that can be very bad.

The way I see it, it is too easy to expel the good ones, the ones that want to get a job and pay taxes, while the ones that gets into criminal gangs seems to get a Free to Stay-card.
Getting kicked out because you earned $20 too little in two months some years ago is a stupid rule.

yeah, i never understood that. people get kicked out all the time for having not taken their vacations, but rapists, murderers and thieves can walk around here willy nilly without issue.

and when some wifebeater (i think that's what he did) actually do get sentenced to be deported, there comes some left extremist and stops the plane that is gonna get them out

This is a part which faces the least opposition from the Greens since Swedish is the official language of Sweden and you cannot integrate properly without speaking Swedish. And you wont understand written signs.

I agree with Foppe and Robann about decent hardworking immigrants getting booted out too easily because of silly reasons. Immigrants should have a probation period of many years regarding crime. Commit one and youre out.

Labour migration has benefitted Sweden but we allowed in too many asylum seekers between 2006-2015.

Im so tired of MP. And it is a hollow victory for them since Riksdagen keeps extending the temporary laws anyway.

Something interesting btw is that Centerpartiet blames Moderaterna and says that a deal was almost finished but M refused to compromise on some parts which a majority opposed.
