That analogy breaks down when you realize there is no actual cure for cancer.

Analogies aren't meant to be perfect fyi. But maybe you are right about it breaking down.
Still, I get tired of people who are like " but your hypothetical is not exactly the same as the situation!" No duh, that is the point of hypotheticals or they wouldn't have made one. ... Copied to Clipboard!

What they're saying is that your hypothetical is not applicable to the situation, so trying to make one serves nothing but distraction.
