I dont need to understand the nuances of a language to know I f its good or not. Hell, you can lie to me and say it's Japanese and have it all be gibberish Klingon. Doesn't mean I can't recognize overracting, missing tone, etc.

The Klingon thing is actually a good example. Listen to Michael Dorn (or most actors) speaking Klingon in Next Generation or Deep Space Nine, and then listen to the way Klingon is spoken in the first season of Discovery, right from the very first episode. Even though it's a language probably no one here speaks, it's still easy to tell that the Discovery acting is terrible while the acting in the other series is really good, and it all comes down to voice direction. They got some fine actors for Discovery, but the way they're directed to speak Klingon is miserable.

For what it's worth I think this practice has mostly died away amongst the decent parts of the community over the past several years.

The only time it really comes up is in specific cases of very high profile shows with noticeably bad dubs. Madoka is the one that's coming to mind the most.

Seems Persona 4 has already broken the record for most played JRPG of all time on steam and is selling amazingly.

i can't help but think atlus is losing a ton of money not putting P5 on PC and Switch. P4 is not nearly as well known as P5 and its doing so well.

Yeah, seeing P4 smash right through Steam's JRPG records is crazy. Definitely think this will be the much-needed wake-up call they need in terms of how much stubbornness on the JP side of things has hamstrung them. Actually, Atlus JP apparently took a leading role in developing this port! Likely came at extensive arm-twisting from the Sega higher-ups as well as literally every localization branch, but hey, progress is progress.

I think there's also a (semi) logical consideration of "HEY I supported the game from the start and now someone else gets to play it for cheaper/more conveniently/at higher specs than me?"

If Sony made a new handheld, then I'd gladly buy it for Persona 5 Crimson. But as of now the Switch is the successor to the Vita so the Switch should get handheld Persona 5.

Switch is already getting a game thats a direct sequel to Persona 5, AND has the main character of Persona 5 in smash

its really bizarre that P5 itself isn't there.

To be fair, Catherine Classic on PC was released before Full Body came out. I don't think that'd happen with Royal after it's already been released.

Atlus will continue to put out questionnaires asking what people want ported to Switch, will see people saying P5, and will take their answers as literal.

Has anybody else crashed multiple times so far (3 times before even getting to a save spot after Shadow Yosuke lol), or just me?

Gonna blame Denuvo for now and just not touch the game again until it's removed.

Just beat up three golden hands that popped out of a chest on Yukiko's seventh floor and crashed after about an hour and a half since my last save. I've had crashing issues a lot, but this one really made me sad laugh.

As far as I can remember:
* Crashed during first Midnight Channel scene (I have heavy scene lag), then again, and I've learned to just skip them completely
* Crashed once before facing Yosuke's boss
* Crashed once going between school floors
* Crashed after a fight before Chie's boss
* Crashed about three times in Yukiko's dungeon. Once after a fight running back from Floor 5 to save, once four minutes later after a chest fight, and once after the three Golden Hands

I honestly don't feel bad about having super easy difficulty and super high exp/gold because I'm drawing random crashes.

Sounds like I'm making the right decision to avoid at least until Denuvo is removed then. I still have good suspicions that's involved, because it's really shitty software.

I only had three before giving up

• When Elizabeth was being introduced, very shortly after entering the main character name
• In the scenes immediately following the Shadow Yosuke fight
• During the Shadow Yosuke fight after restarting from the above

i'm at Kanji's dungeon and still have not had a crash. There's always a slight stutter when there's an AOA prompt though.
