Team Primary, Midnight Wisps and Thunderbolts all top 5 though, so that's probably who I'll be focusing on this time. Wrapped up Wyrd Sisters a while ago actually. Was about par for the Pratchett course! I liked Tom John, and Granny's always a good time. It finally happened that the library didn't have any of the next Discworlds! I almost picked up Good Omens, but decided to branch out SLIGHTLY more and grab Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. It's a good time so far, even though it's outside my wheelhouse. I like all the characters except maybe Everyman Protagonist #8274729. The humor and stuff is still very Pratchett-y, and he even sneaked in a Widdershins reference! Anesthesia tho :\ We watched the first episode of Wheel of Time. I....think? I like it? It's a bit darker than I would prefer, and if the trolloc raid was that intense, I'm not sure I will make it through some of the later stuff, and Wifebolo's tolerance is probably lower than mine for live action carnage. I don't feel like Mat needed the super dark backstory and personality, or to be a bad gambler, or to look like he was 30. Rand is kinda punchable, but, y'know what, that's fair. I think everything else about the execution was pretty dang solid, I just like some of the creative license decisions more than others. I like that we have racial diversity, although somebody pointed out that it's a bit weird to have it within the fairly homogenous backwater Two Rivers community. I also find it a bit odd that our dark skinned black characters so far are Nynaeve, the mystic with a temper, and Padan Fain, who, is Padan Fain. I actually kinda liked giving Perrin a wife to kill off. It's a bit weak to just do a disposable wife like that, but I think it fits his character arc nicely. Rand boinking Egwene is an eye roller, but I can't act surprised that a TV adaptation would ratchet up the romantic/sexual drama. The change I'm actually kinda miffed about is that we don't know the Dragon's gender. That seems like a pretty major change to the dynamics of the world, just for the sake of what I assume is going to be a fakeout with Egwene or something. All in all, I still have the same cautious optimism with which I approached the trailer. Feel like we're in danger of trying too hard to be Game of Thrones, though. We have knocked out the first box set of Ranma 1/2! Was kinda a holy grail show for me- random issues of the manga that I thought didn't have nudity (spoilers, they all did, but it got past my mom and me both at the store every time) were among my first ventures into the manga world, and practically a rite of passage for young trans weebs lol. I couldn't afford the anime as a kid, and couldn't find it as an adult, but half price books to the rescue! It was....everything I wanted it to be. We have some later seasons too, and the dub is on youtube, so I think we might be able to cobble together the whole show! SFIIIS3: The last really notable thing was defeating the end boss of the Ruins using the Scenario 2 Party. The end boss is Taros. He has HP above the 599 threshold, meaning his HP is shown as ???. In this case, it's actually 5000, making it a very long battle. Once his HP does fall below that threshold, it will be displayed. Also, he has magic, but long exhausted it before being killed. His main spell is Spark LV3, and while his MP is set to 255, that spell eats through 20 MP with each cast, eventually leaving him with 15 MP, at which point, he cast Spark LV2 to end up at 0 MP. Picked up Luck be a Landlord, Caves of Qud, and Tanto Cuore, all three of which I'm pretty hyped for and all three of which seem more like "kill a half hour" games than "formally run through the queue" games. Have dipped my toe in on LBAL first, and it's exactly what I expected. I played a knockoff phone version, so I had a handle on the concepts and strategy already, but even with that head start I'm already having trouble clearing levels! Really, not much changes, other than being a long battle. All 3 main characters receive their ultimate weapon upon defeating Taros each time. Also, every scenario main character has reached Innovator Class LV30. Only one has managed to break 100+ MP, just barely, but it happened. Julian reached 98 MP, and Synbios hit 84 MP. I called the heel turns before they happened, which is always fun. Lots of interesting characters- I think Croupe and Vandemaar were actually my faves. Will likely Gaiman more in the future. ....But in the meantime, we're back on the Discworld train with Witches Abroad. Granny Weatherwax gambling is pretty great. Started up another randomized SMRPG run! We started off strong, with our Geno getting what seems to be the rather common "punch things very hard and fast" spread going, and the first star in Croco 1's slot. Unfortunately, he couldn't take a magic hit to save his life....and when we rescued Mallow, he could take a magic hit but not do much else. I could eventually shuffle equips around to switch which was which, but I couldn't actually beat Kero Sewers at the proper time, because both Exor in the chest and Czar Dragon at the end could almost OHKO the party. I picked up Peach from the Forest Maze (Bowyer was actually in his own slot!) and the good news is she can equip the Super Suit, immediately taking her from fodder to solo-able. I think I need to get better about actually using my LP- I'm kinda running into the stereotypical RPG problem where "I might need them later" but I think the monsters are getting pretty strong so it might now be "later." I freakin' hate the Wardrobes that churn out mooks every turn and take several hits! But it's a good time, and it's been so long since I had both the time and the energy to play a video game at all, much less for a few hours! Break is coming up, so I am hoping for more of that. Witches Abroad: Nanny Ogg and Magrat are suddenly growing on me, after feeling like props until this book. I think I need to get better about actually using my LP- I'm kinda running into the stereotypical RPG problem where "I might need them later" but I think the monsters are getting pretty strong so it might now be "later." I freakin' hate the Wardrobes that churn out mooks every turn and take several hits! But it's a good time, and it's been so long since I had both the time and the energy to play a video game at all, much less for a few hours! Break is coming up, so I am hoping for more of that. After reaching LV21, the HP total went down to 104. I tried it again with LV22, and the same thing happened: 104->96. Honestly, it looks like that glitch is locked into the save, so, the only thing I can really do, is cut him from the party. Not a huge loss, especially since I have so many other characters that can fill the vacant slot. Also, after all of the leveling I've done, I should have sufficient stats to complete the game, I'm just going to go for the endgame the next time I play. It's time to move on. Dug Slay the Spire back out for that multiworld randomizer thing from the other topic. For as much as I play roguelike deckbuilders, I never really gave that one its full due....and it's fun! Bit tough, but fun. The randomizer thingy was particularly fun and I want to do it again. I really like randomizers and such, and this was an extra level of enjoyable chaos. Not too hard either; even I want to set mine a bit tougher next time! I wanna get more into that kinda thing, hence the SMRPG runs I've been doing, but a lot of the prime games for rando runs are games I never beat in their original form, so it seems kinda silly to jump straight to randomization. But there's SMRPG to focus on, and maybe some Pokemon and multiworld here and there? Oh yeah, I played a bit more SMRPG the other day and never wrote it up. Pace and route are fairly unremarkable, and I was a bit rusty. Balancing that was a lot of really good Azula and Zuko stuff, and plenty of cool art. Just as solid as the show, I'd say. Rain Chapter 34: Been a whiiiiiile on this one, but luckily the point I had reached corresponded with an IRL hiatus, so the author posted lots of refreshers for us! It's pretty dang rough, but that is not new. Does make part of me glad that I am navigating gender stuff now when I have adult rights, instead of being at the mercy of parents and schools and stuff. Got FF1, and again got a bit cocky by randomizing the map lol. Had a heck of a time navigating (especially since for a while I had the FLOATER but couldn't figure out how to use it) and started in a pretty tough area (the Ice Cave was my first dungeon!) but once I got rolling it wasn't too bad. I gave myself pretty easy settings other than the map, so once I survived the Ice Cave, there weren't many fights that could faze me. I had a lot of fun (although I had to rush towards the end) and the randomizer for that one has a lot of fun options so I think I'll add it into my single player rotation alongside SMRPG. But first I'm playing their "Improved Vanilla" so I can actually learn how it's supposed to work originally :P My chess team's big tournament is this weekend, which means looooots of time sitting around theoretically doing my stuff!
