Been waiting for the right thread to say this in, because youve made a few anti-big-government comments now...

Back when that thread with the survey that told you which alignment you were was alive, your results were pro-big-government. So, just thought Id point that out.

Hear, hear. I like the quote, "If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary." As there is a system, a clearly broken one in need of repair and reform, we should seek a system that works for the people. by the people, and not the cartoonish super villainy that has been apparent since the "New Right" came about in the 1980s, if not earlier than that. Roads, bridges, aqueducts, and the rest need to be maintained; schools need to provide both information and the means to seek and use it, no matter how contradictory it might seem to our personal beliefs; defense and the upholding of the law should be just that, rather than an enforcement of egos or the status quo. What we have now does not work--it hasn't since before any of us were conceived--and we are seeing the breaking point with all the idiots saying everything is fine or that anyone with a shred of intelligible thought on the matter might be the stupid one.

If only both you and the guy you quoted knew what you were talking about. That wasnt one of the options. Its either pro-big-government (and I obviously have to explain this to you - that means they control/dictate everything you do) or pro-for-the-people.

Sure, thats a valid option in a survey that has it as a valid option, but according to that survey, TC is pro-big-government. Yet here we have a thread made by her complaining about how the government is treating the people.

Many arrested looters happen to be white supremacists rather than the peaceful protesters. In many cases, it is the police firing on civilians when the rioting begins, not the other way around. There have been pictures and videos, only a fraction of which I've seen, of people cleaning up at their communities in the mornings after protest. In one case I had read about--I'm not digging this up by the way--an undercover cop infiltrated the protesters, got called out, and drew his gun and aimed it at everyone. The problem is not the people who came to protest against police brutality, but the police who show up in raid gear to start a fight.

It's the same nonsense as when police or military show up, fully armed, to deal with Native Americans trying to defend their homes via non-violent protests.

And yet, look back a few weeks ago, and the police did nothing but stand and take verbal abuse from belligerent, armed folks who didn't want to stay home where it was safe. They did nothing as those protesters blocked transit for medical workers or corona patients seeking aide.

This is a poor double standard. You'd be among the worst kind of fool not to see nor care for it.

Okay but as I stated that wasnt an option based on those other results. From what I saw it would have given a different result if the results were anything other than pro-(big)-government. And we know no government will ever be fully for the people. I personally would never trust any government. None have shown to be worthy.

Funny, I saw the opposite regarding videos, and the image I saw of people protesting the police included black people.

Also again, look at the first political quote I raised in this thread about men, government, and angels. Government is necessary, but the government itself should be regulated to prevent the broken system we have now.

Okay but that still isnt one of the (only) two options provided. The results would have shown different if it were. I had no problem getting results that were pro-people, so.... Also, pro-people = pro-government that works for the people. So to get a result thats the complete opposite almost has to be intentional.
