Game of the Month is a community project open to all B8ers where users share, discover, play and/or discuss a select few games every month. The games featured each month are chosen by YOU the users (and Lady Luck) The Basics - Each month will usually feature three games that were chosen via a random drawing from a pool of games that users nominated - For each game you beat, you get a cool point on our just-for-fun standings as well as a nomination for next month's randomized drawing - In order to receive the point and nomination, you must beat said game within the calendar month - If you beat one of the current month's games in the previous month, you can apply for a "recently beaten waiver," but you will only receive a point and no nomination should you do so - Drawing for next month's games is usually around a week before the end of the month - If you periodically keep us posted on your progress and/or talk about different aspects of the games, then everyone will think you are super awesome! KCF0107 06/02/20 10:47:37 PM #8:	I gave Battle Chasers a shot for about an hour and a half, but it just seemed like a bog-standard RPG. Looking it up, it is apparently a 25-ish hour one, so I think I am done with it. I started Ori and the colors just seem darker. I prefer the layout/level design in Blind Forest thus far, but the combat is a substantial improvement and utilized more for those who were bummed about its application in Blind Forest. I'm planning on going through Warped later in the month, but I am debating whether I want to stick with the original or grab the trilogy remake. I'm at the point in the game to where I have to collect several of the same thing ~~(wisps, though it's not really a spoiler as it is alluded to in the game title)~~ to progress to the end. Throughout the game, I have been exploring on my own since early on you are given the ability to travel to warp points while you are on any solid ground. I have hit walls all the time thanks to not having the right ability, but I had to laugh that where I decided to head to was actually the last place you were supposed to go and am locked out until I get the other items I am supposed to gather. KCF0107 06/10/20 2:36:22 AM #20:	KCF has beaten Ori and the Will of the Wisps I had to purchase the remaining shard upgrades post-game, but I 100% completed it, including beating all of Icehawk's spirit trial records. I'm not sure if I like this or Blind Forest more. Initial gut reaction says Blind Forest. While Will of the Wisps greatly improved combat (and subsequently put it in the spotlight more), and had overall more traversal abilities and related environmental objects, I think traversal flow was more fluid in Blind Forest, which is huge for me. It just felt like level design was a lot more complex in this game, which is really cool and neat to discover all the nooks and crannies, but it sacrifices the ability to move non-stop in a breathtaking fashion that I adore. Also, I liked the tone from Blind Forest more. It was a good mix of hopeful and bittersweet. My personal experience with Will of the Wisps was that it was pretty much a downer from start to finish. Obviously don't read this if you haven't played it, but ~~I was not expecting Ori to die at the end and be revealed as the narrator from the games. Final boss in particular was much more interesting in 1. ~~That ending was way more of a sequel tease than the first one. At least Coco appears to have gotten her laptop battery.~~ Crash 3 Intro - ~~That escalated quickly. I'm sure they had the trilogy's story planned with the evil twin. It was definitely the easiest though, without trying I had 50 lives by World 4. ~~And then they gave me a bazooka lmao. That was excessive.~~ 3 > 2 > 1 for initial series ranking. Spyro > Crash as well for PS1 platformer trilogies, although that is undoubtedly nostalgia as well as I grew up with Spyro and not Crash. I did enjoy it though, it was a good remaster.
