So the CDC released a new statement saying that the estimated death rate of the coronavirus is at 0.2%

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/planning-scenarios.html

Thankfully the media isnt covering this at all because people dont understand just how dangerous and deadly this virus is. Thankfully us educated and smart folk can see through this and know that we need to continue to stay inside, but there are others who are using this information to try and downplay how dangerous this virus is.
So I have a few Facebook people that I dare to say I even associate with that are posting this nonsense and trying to persuade others to get back to normal by saying 0.2% isnt that high.
Whats a good strategy or a few good zingers to throw at these spreader trolls that will really stick it to them?

That document shows current best estimate (scenario 5) for overall fatality of twice that (0.4% or 1 in 250 cases), with the 65+ group showing 1.3% fatality (1 in 77 cases) with 65+ hospitalization rate of 7.4% (over 1 in 14 cases).

And if you give a damn, take me baby, or leave me.

Death isnt even why i am worried about the virus
Its the long term health effects it can have.

Lung scarring and such.

Even if we are just looking at death and not at other long-term health consequences, it's not a high death rate that makes COVID concerning, it's how easily and rapidly it spreads. A million cases of something with a 0.1% mortality rate will kill the same number of people as a thousand cases of something with a 100% mortality rate, and COVID's communicability means it's very capable of racking up a huge body count with the former strategy.

This only happens in cases of extreme symptoms, it's not the norm.

If you dont think it'll kill you there's really no reason to think it'll cripple you either.

but you have no way of knowing what its going to do, because it literally doesnt discriminate

you can be the unhealthiest motherfucker and have no symptoms

meanwhile chris traeger could get it and just die
