So my son Luke is around 2 1/2 and he was scared to go find his blue bunny that he sleeps with in me and my fiance's bedroom because it was super dark and after stepping into the room he turned back around and was like 'scared. Shadows' So I have this Gengar stuffed toy that he knows is dad's and I favor it a lot so I get it and hand it to him and tell him that this is one of my strongest Pokemon, as long as Luke has this with him it is like Dad is with him and I promised that the Gengar would keep him safe and Gengar can take out anything that might be in the shadows.

So he grabs it and mutters "Safe" a couple of times and treks right into the room with no fear and returns smiling with is bunny. He has been carrying the Gengar around a lot more after that and I recognize it is because it is like having me with him even if I am in another room and I am just overwhelmed with parenting feels.

I had to tell someone other than my fiance who found it super adorable.
