I understand your plight. I live in the middle of a desert in central Washington. I was stuck with the worst wireless internet in the world for the longest time. Something like 1.5Mb/s when it was actually working.

I live on the outskirts of my city so my internet isn't the best. It's however good enough and I don't download games anyway.

I have (nominally) 12Mbit down/1Mbit up. But it's wireless so fog, rain or snow can totally clobber the signal.


My internet comes from the top of that building. It's far enough away that you can actually see the effect of the curvature of the Earth. You can't see any of the silos underneath. And that photo was taken with an 18x super-zoom camera with a 504mm equivalent lens, to the naked eye it's barely a speck.

Yep! I have okay download speeds, but cant play games online. The big internet companies dont exist here.

Who do you have? I live in the middle of nowhere too, and not to sound like a salesman, but AT&T is lightning quick compared to anything else for me. Like 30-40 dl. Only issue is that you have to almost have a VPN because it's really finnicky with certain downloads for whatever reason.

I am considering moving to the middle of nowhere, Forks WA (It's where Twilight was filmed it seems).

It's super cheap there, but it's an hour to the nearest safeway/grocery store (though they do have a thriftway in town for emergency supplies).

I could retire cheaply there ($240 a month lot rent on a $10k mobile home). My total expenses would be well under $500 (not including food), but since I may not be able to drive much longer, I would be mostly stuck there forever lol.

I have not decided yet, I am going to take a trip and check it out in the next few weeks.
